a.k.a. The Adventures of Pascal TR

Intro:
Welcome everyone to my very first trip report! Ahh!!! All week, I’ve been trying to be good and wait to start on my TR until I got my lesson plans for school done (they’re all due tonight), but… since I’m currently at work and am at a place where I can’t do any work on my lessons until I’m out of the office, I figured that posting the beginnings would be a good idea! :lol: As you may have read in my Pre Trip Report, this trip has definitely been a long time coming… a 4 year wait for me in fact! I was told that if I didn’t write my trip report for this trip, I would be “disowned, unfollowed, and shunned”… thanks for that one Kenzie!

In the midst of the trip, we got to celebrate both of our birthdays and Valentine’s Day, so it was a magical experience indeed.

So without further ado:

The cast:

There’s me, Courtney, who turns 23 tomorrow (AHHHH!) and this was my 19th trip to the World… and then there’s my wonderful BF, Dan, who turned 23 the day before our trip (Feb 12) and who is lucky enough (or not) to spend his first WDW visit with me!

There was a third member of our cast as well… a mischief stowaway by the name of Pascal!

The dates: February 13 through February 17, 2012

I totally feel ya on the last day sadness. The hardest part of the trip I must say.

You two are just too adorable for words. I love love love your nights shots of Haunted Mansion, Splash, and Pirates. That's basically my nighttime trifecta! We also hit up Big Thunder right after Splash...the best time to ride is at night. Hands down!

We try! LOL.
And I actually waited to order the cd until we got home... I wanted to see the pictures before I shelled the money out for them.

Yay, I'm not the only emotional wreckage on the last day!

Slash in general - Carly keeps putting updates on FB and I'm like, ARE YOU KIDDING ME WA HWAH WAHHH.

I'm glad you "WAH'd" together at Wishes though - I think we all collectively "AW'd" about that.

I'm definitely all teary eyed over here and my sister is like "what the heck is wrong with you now?" and I'm like "Trip report" and she rolled her eyes haha.. I've had an emotional day so it didn't take much to set me off!

I HATE when rides break down when you're in line Especially if you don't get another chance to ride again while you're there. Boooooooo!!

I do however love the pics of you and Dan in front of the castle. Awwww <3 super cute!!

I know! And I love Peter, it's one of my childhood favs... I remember how spellbound I was by it as a kiddo, and I really wanted Dan to experience it.

Ashley just doesn't understand the power of a TR. And seriously what was with yesterday??? I almost lost it in front of my 4th graders I wanted to cry my eyes out so badly! UGHHHHH.

I have the picture of us kissing printed out in a frame from Walmart in my room (my Disney frame is in my office so I see Disney every day teehee), and the frame says like "in the midst of ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale" or something really similar to that. I love it.

I love how you two both cried during wishes...I agree with Kenzie I Awww'd out loud. I have never watched it from up there...how did you like it versus down on the street?

Dan thinks he's hilarious... he laughed for like 10 minutes about his face after that.

That was my first time watching it from anywhere on Main Street area at all... usually when Wishes is on, I'm on Splash or Big Thunder if I'm in the park (because there's zero lines then!)... or I'm watching it from a boat on the lagoon because people don't show up for their reservations and my family goes for free. :lol: But, I can tell you now, I will never not watch it from that area again.

Last days are always the hardest... I forgot how hard they hit because it's been so long since I've been at WDW (though I have memories of bursting into tears the second we went under the sign on the way back to the airport. Every year. Some things never change). But, luckily... there's still a little more magic left to this trip. :animwink:

D'awwww we do our best... actually, no, Dan doesn't try at all. I have to try twice as much to make up for him. jk jk. I wish Thunder was open, that's one of my favorites to do at night... I use to just run back and forth between Splash and Thunder for like 2-3 hours at night, just to see how many times I could ride them when they didn't have lines.

Honestly, I don't think that I'v ever seen Peter Pan the whole way through. Ashley and I went to watch it a few weeks ago and in it's case was Cinderella so we need to locate it!

And yes, she doesn't get the whole TR thing. I made her a user name for the website but she's never been on! I keep telling her how excited I am to meet you and Jess and all the girls from here in Sept and she just doesn't get it lol she will get it though after she meets everyone too!!

OF COURSE I will put a picture of us girls up!! I'm planning to make a special collage with pics from the trip. We made one for my Mom for Christmas at WalMart and it came out really awesome!

:ROFLOL: I'll never NOT watch it from Main Street again... double negative, they cancel each other out.
Actually, I think that Dan and I had a conversation about that after Wishes... about how we're always going to have to watch it from Main Street now because of the way it affected us both. At least once a trip, it must be viewed from MS.


I don't even want to write the last part(s) of this!!!!! I've been in denial of being home for almost a month, does it really have to be over??? (And how many updates can I spread the last day into? hehe)

great trip report, courtney! i kept starting to read this and then things got in the way (like work since that is where i have been reading it :lookaroun :lol i finally had a slow morning and i was able to finish! much to comment on.

yay for once upon a time! such a great show!! i saw that you posted on my trip report about your love for the show and i didn't realize that you had posted similar billboards on your trip report until today. mr. gold/rumple is quite the character! his back story was so sad. i loved how they tied him in as the beast with belle. very cool. i like how they are switching up the fairy tales as we know them. makes for a new and interesting show!

i love himym!! woooooo! :lol: woo girls are quite annoying when you aren't a part of it.

its so funny to me that dan was most excited for epcot. i mean, i love epcot now but normally people aren't that excited for epcot. i guess being of legal drinking age can really change a first time wdw visitor's priorities! and i am sure his knowledge of different languages was also a factor and not just the booze. :lol:

i can't believe you all were about to drink so much in world showcase! props to you for not getting sick. i got buzzed off one margarita on my recent trip. :lol: i would have been passed out laying in the bushes if i had drank as much as you guys.

the car has now been returned outside sci fi! it was there on our trip. i wonder if they remove it every once in awhile to clean it up.

i love getting the photopass CD! if you pre-order the CD for 100 bucks it is really a great purchase if you only have two people in your group. wes and i were able to get a ton of great pictures when we bought the CD. i am kind of sad that we didn't get the CD this past trip because we hardly took any pictures together. when i don't pre-order the CD i am not as inclined to go to every photopass photographer.

i LOVE your idea of a restaurant spreadsheet!! i really want to try all of the restaurants and resorts in wdw because i want to be able to know which are worth the money, has the best food, etc. great idea!! i think i will make a spreadsheet this afternoon at work.

congrats on the weight loss! that is so awesome! and the training for the TOT 10 miler should really help with any future weight loss goals. i so wish i was going to this race so i could meet all the other wdwmagicers (is that a word?) who are going. we'll see how those other trips play out and i might get to make this happen!

Aw man, Saturday night we had a date night, and Dan drove... so he had a mixed cd in. Song #2: One Jump Ahead from Aladdin. I was like LOVE.
I'm working on the c25k program right now to get me started, then once I get through that (I'm halfway through right now) I'll start working on one of the other programs out there for a 15k.

He had Aladdin on there?! Tell him I say he gets an A++ :animwink: Haha! Ok I will have to check into those programs. Good luck with all your training, I'm sure you're doing great!
Ok so back to your TR.... I HAD GOOSEBUMPS WHEN YOU EXPLAINED WISHES AND HOW THE TWO OF YOU REACTED! TOO CUUTE! I know I'm going to be a wreck this summer when I see it with my best friends.... Haha! I'm so sad your trip's coming to a close. I've had soo muuch fun reading it! I'm always a mess when I leave Disney too and every time my mom says "You'll be back." but I just want to stay there forever because I have so much fun with my loved ones!

Friday, February 17 – The LAST Day



I promise, the magic isn’t over yet, so hang in there with me! The last day isn’t going to be in one update, but two… you’ll understand why when we get to the second one.

If it was any other day of waking up in the hotel, you all know how I would start it by now. But today was not one of those days… instead, we slept in until 8:15, and packed up the last bits of our stuff.

So, it was goodbye to our room, as well as the checkout, and airplane procedure. After we got our bags situated to hold until we’d be back at 3 for DME, we walked over to the MK bus stop and hopped on the bus. We had a breakfast to get to.

Pascal says “Hey gurlll watcha doing?”

Pascal is going to NOM off Dan’s beard (which is now just a goatee, so it’s not AS bad as it was then)

Pretty sure this was one of the days where I did my make up on the bus… oh well! And something to note about the pictures from the last day, you’re going to see an addition… I only brought one pair of contacts with me to Disney (my last pair I had actually), and the very last day when I went to put them on, the right eye’s was disintegrating down to nothing.

So, you get to see me looking all nerdy and chic in my Vogue glasses.

Well, we were off to my FAVORTIE character meal. Chef Mickey’s has been a trip staple for as long as I can remember… we have videos of us at the CM in DTD back from ’94, so I was at least 5 on my first trip. And we’ve eaten there ever since, regardless of who I went on the trip with. Even on our middle school band/vocal trip, we ate there! This trip was not going to be any different. At all.

Notice the cloudy sky… Florida loved us, and waited until it was our last day there to have any rainfall at all. I swear, FL was crying because we were leaving.

Walking over from MK, Monorail Black passed by us, and Dan decided to tell me that that was his favorite of the monorails. Music to my ears, let me tell you.

But, that has nothing on what he said the moment we stepped into the Contemporary lobby downstairs.

“I could see myself staying here. Can we stay here on our next trip?”

We got there a little early for our reservations, so I decided to stop into BVG to give one last go at the runDisney training shirt.

HAHA JESS, TAKE THAT!

Dan was laughing at me the whole time because I was doing a happy dance in the store since we found it!

My boyfriend is a camera stealer, who steals cameras to take pictures of resorts that he instantly falls in love with because he wants to stay there the next trip.

Not that I mind or anything

So, we did buy the Chef Mickey’s picture (I need to get it from Dan… my one copy I have is already cut so I could put it in my album his brother gave me for Christmas), and Pascal made a nice little home on Mickey’s hat in the picture.

He was a part of our “family,” he deserves to be in the picture!

So, then we settled in for the wait.
