Since the promo Free Dining has expired, what will Disney have up it's sleeve for the next promo? Does anyone think Free Dining will be re-released in April/May like it always has?

Just curious...I'm already booked!

I thought the promo booking ran thru the end of this month & didn't get it booked. Even with the awesomeness of our recent trip I'm not sure we'd go next fall unless it was offered again. The free dining was a huge value for us. I'll be interested to see what else Disney does.

The free dining booking date ended on the 20th. I do expect something else to bounce out within the next few weeks...... It's just what Disney does.

Yeah, I read the date wrong. We'll see what they come out with. Part of me wants to book something but then part of me thinks maybe we should try something new. Still plenty of time to think on it & study my options...

Thanks, Pam!

Why not book a package now and if/when a new offer is released call to modify your package.
This can be a bit of a catch 22. Having a room already reserved will not guarantee that you can get a promotion on it. In fact if it does anything it will reduce your chances of getting a promotion. Promotions are based on availability and in the past year the list of resorts excluded from promotions has been growing simply due to the rooms already being booked.

I'm hoping they come out with something for next year, especially around the beginning of december. I'm planning to take my fiance (will be my husband by then) on his first trip! And we would love to take our parents, but that definately won't happen without some sort of discounts...

I know I'm a bit strange-n-spooky...the thinking is to wait & see what the future holds. If it's meant to be all the pieces will come together including the right discount/promotion. The inlaws want to get everyone together for Christmas in the mountains next year so ((can't believe I'm actually saying this)) that might be more of a priority. Lol!

Exactly! No sense in being squirrely and jumping the gun. Wait & see works for me.

Sorry, I see no value to even the "free" dining.

You pay rack rate on the resort and at a Value you only get the QSDDP, at a Moderate or Deluxe you get the regular DDP. I'd rather get a general-public or AP discount and pay for eating what meals I want.

With QSDDP I'd have to upgrade to the regular anyway, I prefer sit-down meals. But even with the regular DDP, I find there are too many QS meals so I have credits left and pay out-of-pocket for TS meals because there aren't enough credits. Dining plan simply has no appeal for me even when it's free.

Tables in Wonderland with an Annual Pass discount saves me much more than DDP ever could and I get to eat the way I like.

We always eat what, and where we want. I crunched the numbers 100 times and the way we like to eat while we are out Free Dining always wins.

I'm going to pick a nit. Disney hasn't always offered free dining. It's a relatively recent promotion. They may or may not offer it again in the future. (I'd bet they would, but no guarantees.)

While it's reasonable at this point to expect the offer to come back, it's not like it'd been in place for 40 years. If Disney decides to forgo the offer, they won't be breaking some time-honored tradition.

The fact that people are now expecting this offer as "business as usual" should probably be cause for concern at Disney.

I NEVER expect it. In fact the way I look at it each time I buy it is "This is probably the last time."

My question in the thread was WILL it be back during it's normal time slot of April/May?

Unfortunately, the answer is "We don't know. Even as a Disney TA we get little to no advance knowledge about promotions. All you can do is look at the promotions from the past and make your best guess.

Some desserts I can do without...Some I LOVE though. They should let you choose.

Yeah it's more of a discussion of curiosity being they NEVER released it so early in the year. It's kind of a catch 22 question I guess.
