The entrance to Hollywood Studios (entering from World Drive) also has several extremely faded posters on both sides of the entrance as you drive through. At least they were still faded quite recently, not sure if they finally replaced them (i would hazard a guess that they haven't).

Kind of off the subject of faded posters, but since the thread was about show diminishing, well here is a pic i snapped of an Epcot-bound boat at the Boardwalk.

All the boats had similar wear and scuffing (to varying degrees, some not this bad and others almost as bad), though this one was the worst.

I also rode Living with the Land and Spaceship Earth today. No animatronic figures were moving in Land's Rainforest scene whatsoever (one monkey figure was missing entirely and has been for a long time) and several were stationary or barely moving at the farmhouse (the door to the greenhouse is still broken too and has been for years).

The first animatronic you see in SSE (the chief in the cave painting scene) was broken and frozen in an awkwardly contorted position (this is the first time I've ever ridden SSE and seen a broken AA). The steam in the press room was not working either. Also the camera that snaps your photo at the start was not working apparently, it sent back cartoon faces to the end (this may have been messed up for some time, this issue was also present a few weeks ago when i last rode it), it affects all riders. And lastly, the speaker on my side of the car wasn't working.

Air conditioning was lackluster everwhere except Innoventions and some areas in the Land pavilion. Both the France movie and SSE as well as the Friendship boats had the ac far too low. Bathrooms were a mess, paper all over the floor with broken faucets and empty/broken paper towel dispensers among nastier things i won't mention. And not a cast member to be found (even just a couple of years ago i generally always found bathrooms to be diligently patrolled by cast members who kept paper and messes sprayed and cleaned up). This issue affects even bathrooms that are hardly used, and the messes seem to be ignored for very long periods of time.

Soarin was looking good at least, cool to see it one more time in good quality before it's replaced. It better look good though, just out of rehab with new projectors. Even the queue's condition looked brand new, refreshing to see such condition again after so many years.

Sorry for the long post (almost a trip report), but i will stress that show quality issues are much more severe than some faded posters. Not to underestimate the importance of the smaller details of course, they are very important too, but it is a growing issue that affects both major and minor details alike. Buzz Lightyear's ride for instance is covered in mold and faded paint everywhere (likely due to roof issues that were present before the last refurb, though the inside was left untouched). And Small World is in deplorable condition as well, along with the missing effects on Big Thunder (hopefully their upcoming rehabs will do something).

They have been replaced, and thank you for your post, this was really the reason I made this thread, it isn't just the posters.

LWtL's AA issues have been present for years as well. Sad to hear about the Cave Cheif. I guess I'll wait for my next trip to see if I notice AC issues. I still haven't felt like it was too hot inside rides.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Maybe we should actually start an ongoing maintenance list on the forum to help the mouse out?

It could be a sticky where posters write a "job sheet" it could consist of a date, park/hotel, attraction/shop/restaurant, and a description of the work required.

E.g.
6/2/16 MK Storybook Circus - faded circus posters need replacing

Other posters could then look out for the exact same issue, like a hidden Mickey and report back if and when it is fixed?
I don't think there's enough space on the internet for that list...
"Senior Managing Director of the Signs and Banners department" Sounds legit...
I'm pretty sure his post was made in jest...
Maybe the signs are getting replaced...View attachment 144645

I was in WDW last weekend and noticed many of the same issues. AC was practically non-existent in SSE, to the point that I was more sweaty when I got off the ride than when I went on. I experienced similar issues across all of Epcot.

The Friendship boats do indeed look awful and it's an embarrassment. They do not look like boats fit to transport guests to world class theme parks from deluxe accommodations at the Vacation Kingdom of the World.

I won't even begin to describe the restrooms....

The good: the lasers for Illuminations looked great, as did The American Adventure.

I was in wdw last weekend as well and will have to agree with all of this. Partially why I posted this

I don't think so, considering when this opened the posters were really vibrant. If Disney wanted them to look faded, they would've made them faded.
I hear ya...I'm sure up to a point they should be replaced, but I only thought that just like the real circus, they first got them new and then over time and traveling they started to weather and wear to a faded state and they just stayed that way.

Moreover, it adds to the look they might have been going for over time as they purposely weathered some things that knew would not have changed at the same rate that those posters would in the same environment. E.g. the entrance sign to Pete's meet and greet when the area first opened up.

the stores in Norway and Germany didnt have any ac on either, cast were fanning themselves.

end of quarter is coming the EPCOT facilities manager needs a bonus so I guess A/C in central FL for guests is now a 'wasteful extravagance' according to the decision makers in Celebration in their 68 deg 40% RH climate controlled offices...

As a result the going out of business vibe grows stronger....

I'm assuming you are being sarcastic, but I want to make sure no one is taking you seriously. First of all - in parks engineering leadership positions are not BE (Bonus Eligible) positions. Secondly, temperature settings are determined at a global level and set in the EMS (Energy Management System). Any deviations from that (for example, a special event starting at 7am in a building that normally doesn't have the AC kick on until 8am) have to be approved in advance and plugged into the system. Think of it like a big NEST thermostat for WDW. This has been the system and process for YEARS and the temp settings haven't changed at least in 5-6 years. This applies to all office buildings as well - there are no offices (except possibly old trailers with manual AC) that you can adjust the AC down that low.

What has happened? We continue to see hotter temps for prolonged periods of time and this is the time of year when you start to notice issues with AC units and things have to be fixed/replaced.

Speaking of the AC, I was on 2 different monorails last night (one from the GF to the MK and another from the Contemporary to the Poly). I swear, it felt like the air wasn't even running on either. It was literally cooler outside, which is ridiculous considering how hot and humid it's been here. Completely unacceptable.

I hear that, to me it feels like they have the heater running in them half the time.
