No. The timeframe hasn't changed. People just assumed it would move faster than it is.

Lee, since the Mine Train is a late edition do you know if they would even be ready to start building it if they wanted to? Has all the upfront design and engineering been completed yet?

i thought the ENTIRE ROJECT was supposed to be completed by winter 2012-early 2013. Now we're hearing 2014 for the mine ride...it's just too far away to even get excited.

This is neither here nor there, because it will never happen, but there were originally plans to add the Matterhorn to the MK. It was slated to be build kind of adjacent to the Small World show building, which is why the Fantasyland skyway station had a chalet feel. It was all supposed to be part of the same complex. The WDW Railroad would have traveled through it, and there would have been a snowy cavern with actual snow.

Of course, this was almost 40 years ago!

How would the railroad go through it. The railroad runs like 200yards behind the skyway building.

In general, they take longer to build things than they used to. I have to admit, it annoys me from time to time as well.

Yes. As far as I know, it is ready to begin. The delay can be attributed to:
- The project will come out of the budget for either fiscal 12 or 13, so the check hasn't been written yet.
- There is a TON of outdoor land work yet to be done that relates to BatB and Mermaid. They really have to get all that done before they begin a huge project in the middle of the land.
- Logistically, it would be a huge pain to have so many major projects underway in such a small area.

Another point not yet discussed...
While the coaster is under construction, the pathway back to Mermaid will likely be a dead end. The only construction access to the coaster will be via the road between Mermaid and the tents. That will very possibly block all access to Mermaid from the east, forcing guests to enter and exit the BatB and Mermaid area via the west pathway near Village Haus.

No, it's not pathetic.
I don't understand the rush...
Yea its not really pathetic, a little disappointing but not pathetic. I think the problem is that with Potter already open and the FLE was slated to be done 2012/13 and now its 2014 for this. I can see how it could be a bit frustrating.

Disneyland opened in a year in 1955 really!? This is a joke if true, but I think that it'll be done by the end of 2012.

Wow, that sounds busy and crowded!

The rush is that MK is lacking capacity and are falling way behind every theme park on Earth. That's not even mentioning the fact that their direct competitor down the street will already be hard at work on phase 2 of the wizarding world or something equally amazing.

You've never been to a Cedar Fair park have you?

I agree that MK is not where it used to/should be/could be. It still has a long way to go in the quality control department but that statement is a little much, isn't it?
