You've never been to a Cedar Fair park have you?
I agree that MK is not where it used to/should be/could be. It still has a long way to go in the quality control department but that statement is a little much, isn't it?
No it isn`t. It is an attraction not originally planned, for an area not designed for an attraction.wait is this ride really not opening until 2013-2014? Thats really pathetic
Really. Construction began July 1954.Disneyland opened in a year in 1955 really!?
Yes it is. Now if your ranking MK to other parks like Carowinds, Six flags, and Sea world, tell me, where do you see a decent dark ride that stands to the quality as Magic Kingdoms (dont compare PPF)
Not to mention MK is the place where kids grow up with Snow White and Cinderella, not pixar and crap like that. So I think the expansion will go over nice, I mean I already thought when I first heard about it "Oh no, Nemo's back and he's in Magic Kingdom!" :ROFLOL:Seriously, MK in my opinion is worth going to for dark rides and shows, same with Epcot. HWS and AK are pretty much up to date and HWS is on the same level as any other thrill park, except it has better rides, and AK cant be compared to any local zoo. Amen. :sohappy:
what? I think you misread my post.
I was making a point that the MK isn't falling way behind every other theme park on earth when compared to other parks like Cedar Fair's.
No it isn`t. It is an attraction not originally planned, for an area not designed for an attraction.
Plus it`s being installed in an ongoing construction site.
And it`s only 2 years away.
Not originally planned? Dude it was in the original proposal! Jim Hill has been posting info about it since as far back as Fall 2008.
Nope it wasn't
It didn't appear on the blueprints until June 2010.
"Snow White" fans shouldn't fret, though. Should this part of the Fantasyland revitalization plan actually go forward, Disney's first princess would still make her home in the Magic Kingdom. Snow would just whistle while she walked over to another corner of Fantasyland. Where the Imagineers plan on installing a family-friendly coaster which will take Guests -- via mine car -- through the Seven Dwarves' diamond mine.
How would you like to get through with your adventures with Ariel and Sebastian and walk out looking around the Florida sunshine basking in that new roller coaster that's been put in for Disney Fans/Geeks to ride. A roller coaster? What are you talking about? The one themed to the Seven Dwarfs, that one. Lavishly made up with details that are closer to something you'd see in Tokyo that stateside, but it's there...
I think there are articles and forum posts from other boards that had actually talked about the snow white coaster even earlier but im too lazy to check. It was part of the original plans.
This is an article from October 9, 2008:

Here is an even earlier article from July 15th. 2008:

I remember Al Lutz also talking about the mine coaster, before the Jim Hill reference in Fall '08; Lutz mentioned it in passing as a proposal for WDW as part of the "NextGen" thing.
I remember that because I distinctly remember thinking "I wonder what happened to the mine coaster concept Lutz talked about?" while sitting in the Anaheim Arena when Rasulo announced the New Fantasyland at D23 Expo in September, 2009.
And yeah, Lutz also mentioned NextGen several years ago now, before anyone really knew how big it would be.
.
My point too.Yes it may have been in an original concept, but as for it being included in actual construction plans and not concept was June 2010.
Im excited for this ride, but does any one know the truth are they tearing down snow whites scary adventures? and If they are does any one know when?
The mine train was part of the original Blue Sky concept for Fantasyland that was pitched by Eric Jacobsen several years ago. It also included such things as a Princess and the Frog restaurant and the E-Ticket "Cartoon Corners".
None of them made it to the real planning phase, as we all saw when the first set of plans was leaked, but continued to sit on the shelf at WDI.
When the decision to cut the M&Gs was made, the mine train was chosen to take it's place, helped by the fact that the Princesses were going to have to move into SWSA.
It moved into the official plan early-ish in 2010, and made it's first appearance on blueprints in the summer.
They are just gutting it and renovating for the princesses, if I'm told correctly. A new ride would eventually take its place.
Did I hear correctly that the ride system would remain and a floor would be built over it?
Do you have any idea when this is happening?
