Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Discussion

Make sure you understand the reasons for Meet and Greets -- not the "Disney pixie dust reasons" but the real-life reasons:

THey are placed in areas that will pull kiddies away from the major attractions and divert foot traffic closer to food stands and souvenir stands...

It serves a direct purpose: traffic control and direction. Watch where they place the characters during the morning "Soarin' stampede" for example. You and I will ignore them and follow the crowd....but you can bet there are plenty of 5-year olds that will follow Pluto, not the Soarin' crowd...and good luck as a parent trying to redirect that attention once it has zeroed in on Pluto...

Your not going to have any type of meet and greet near the entrance/exit of a ride.

The ride is certainly going to be more kid-friendly than thrill ride (i.e., more Splash Mountain and less Rock n Roller Coaster). I can only imagine the cool ideas they have for the ride itself. You know there will be a scene where you enter a diamond cave and see nothing but glimmering, glistening diamonds (not real ones, of course lol) with little dwarfs mining away singing the "We dig, dig, dig .." song. Maybe it'll appear at the beginning and set the tone of the ride much like the slow climb at the start of Big Thunder Mntn. Railroad. And certainly there will be a great shop at or near the exit queue themed towards Snow White. It's gonna be so much fun!

And that totally makes sense, it just seems like the new Mermaid M&G will be near the entrance/exit of her ride... but the blueprints I suppose show a totally separate que? The Grotto was always super busy, but to your point is wasn't near a major attraction.

Then the new Belle M&G will be it's own attraction, so it supports the comments. I wouldn't be suprised if you're all correct, but you know landscaping/paths/a ride exit toward TLM we can't see etc. can really change things up if they did want to place a M&G in the cottage... I think!

You know, something that I always thought of when I got off of SWSA was 'What the heck? Where was Heigh Ho?'. I mean, that is one of the most famous Disney songs and one of the most famous scenes ever, but SWSA didn't represent or include it at all. So now we're getting a whole ride dedicated to the dwarfs to make up for it, I guess.

The queue for the Mermaid M&G will be several yards east along the main pathway from where the ride exits.
Totally seperate queue, but fairly close to the exit.

I'm starting to get really excited about this new ride system! Only thing I don't like is the storybook circus. Why make a whole land because of relocating dumbo? Wasn't the charm of dumbo the location? Being by the castle and the carousel and everything? I guess we will never see the enchanted snow palace, I thought we had a decent chance at getting it for the toon town redo. Oh well.

Dumbo would have detracted from the theming of the new areas. I like the idea of moving and expanding it, although I would have preferred integrating it into Toontown instead of replacing it.

To me that was the charm of the Carousel, but never Dubmo.

Scuttle, I don't think there were ever any real plans on doing anything resembling the Matterhorn at MK. Some random people have said they wish to see it but nothing actually in the rumor mill.
