Yeah I agree. I don't really see much flash going on when I'm on HM...Its mainly on Pirates.

And people who are using flash to take pictures of things that are 20 feet away should be stoned in front of their children. Like there are people at The Confectionary taking flash pics of Wishes...Really? That's what you're going to roll with? You really think your flash is going to reach 390 feet away?

I still have an issue with one person taking one pic. If everyone felt they could then the whole ride would be inundated with flashes. Honestly, it's very annoying and entitled seeming. Also, there's a difference between Disney not upkeeping rides and people feeling they are special enough to take flash photos if they want to. Disney should keep things in tip top shape and be ashamed of themselves when they let things get in ill repair but this does not give guests a right to spoil the experience of others. And POTC is the absolute worst of all. My blood pressure really gets up on that ride.

Just so I'm sure...you don't have an issue with someone doing it with nobody else around?

The oblivious expressions of me-first entitlement being celebrated in a good many of these posts is astonishing to see -- and impossible to reconcile with the ideals upon which places like the Disney parks were built.

Yeah that is my point. I realized there were some random photos in The Mansion that you could no way see without some sort of flash. When you ride something a bazillion times in one trip you start noticing things. So I planned on being on HM when the park closed to take all the flash pics I wanted because I knew we would be alone. I have pics of those 2 photos, some detailed pics of the books pages in Madame Leota's Room. I even just randomly took a flash pic of some stuff in the attic and found a hidden Mickey that you just cant see without light.

When Jack Sparrow was added to PotC I pretty much did the same thing. Went there 1 min before closing on a EMH night and fired away.

It seriously does ruin the ride for people when every 2 seconds a flash goes off 2 feet from you. Not everyone can be as considerate as me though...LOL! Thats one of the only times I'm ever considerate! :D

No one around on a ride late at night - no problem in my book. I think those moments come so infrequently anyway that the person lucky enough to actually BE the only person on the ride should get to enjoy it how they want.

I do agree that folks seem to be bigger offenders on Pirates than on HM. It's my personal opinion that because Pirates is so cavernous that people forget it's actually a dark ride and that the flash can still disrupt the ride experience. On HM, the ride experience is a bit more intimate. Things are closer to you in your Doombuggy and it's way darker in there, so a flash is very noticeable in those conditions.

I personally do not take flash photos on rides when they are not permitted because I am a stickler for rules and I don't want to offend or ruin the ride for anyone else. But that's just my personal choice.
