You know, I rarely EVER post here. As a matter of fact it took several stabs at even remembering my login and password, but that effort was worth it to say what's on my mind here-
I'm not going to sugar coat anything, and I don't care if this makes me unpopular for speaking my mind against people with a higher post count than myself (because I know in the internet world, that magic number is all that matters more times than not).
MarkC, yeah, I'm directly calling you out on this one. Your post was absolutely pathetic. Insulting, uncalled-for, hateful and caustic. Not to metion it was spoken clearly by someone jealous that they were not able to attend themselves.
I waited in line since 1pm today to get into that club. And no, I have not been there every single night this week. Not that I owe someone with your attitude any explanation at all, but I cut an all-expense-paid trip to southern California several days short to make it back to see this show one last night. Why? Crazy? Abso-freaking-lutely not. I started going to the Adventurers Club in 1999 when I first moved to Florida. I can say in all sincerity that never once have I tried to pretend I was part of the show, spoiled a joke or a storyline, or done anything beyond sit back, do a lot of laughing, a lot of clapping, and show my support and appreciation for the most talented collection of actors in Central Florida. Several of those very talented actors have become personal friends, and after tonight I will miss them dearly.
Not that someone with your attitude deserves any of this explanation, but these people, these good, genuine, excessively talented people, found out they were losing their jobs literally on the same day WE all found out PI was closing. They weren't even given prior notice that an announcment was being made that day. Many of these people - my friends - who have brought myself and countless others so much joy over the years, are now literally without a job. I know several that are without exaggeration applying for unemployment when the office opens on Monday.
So why did we stand in line for hours to get in? To show those people who have given their lives to earn hour respect that we appreciate every d-a-m-n thing they've done for us, given for us and sacrificed for us over the years just to make us laugh.
Tonight was about showing well deserved respect to people we care about. And MarkC, with your attitude, that is a feeling I can truly say I believe YOU will never have the chance to enjoy yourself.
I'm done here. Delete my post, ban me, block me, whatever you see fit. What I said needed to be said. Period.
And if any Permanent Members of the Adventurers Club happen to see this post before embarking on your fabulous year long Monkey Cruise, know that no matter what anyone else says, you are respected, you are appreciated and you are loved. Thank you all for everything you've given us.
Kongaloosh.
Well folks, what you see right there are what most people like to call "the crazy people".
I can understand if these people are there to see it for their last time (and were unable to catch it earlier this week), but I have a hunch that these are all the weird people who have been there everyday this week, seen every show, pushing and shoving everybody else to get into the Library. Rather than just enjoy a full day of the show and allow others to experience it one last time, these obsessive-compulsive (and selfish) people will probably stay in the club all night, disallowing anybody else from enjoying it one last time. (then again, they probably smell if they've been sitting in the heat all this time - not sure I'd want to be in the club with them!) :ROFLOL:
