That's a shame. I hope they're not tearing it down yet. I'm gonna miss tacky 80s Epcot once they do finally get rid of it all.

Yes, some people here have a holier than thou attitude... But, not everyone... We all have our opinions.. If you don't like something, then stay away for that ride or show or attraction... or better yet, stay away from WDW... That would be one less person I have to stand behind when waiting online to enjoy the experience Disney gave me, no matter how thrilling or how mild... Not everything can be to your liking.. Deal with it....

understood - but everyone does have the right to post their opinion and why they think that way - as well as others posting why they do not - without being "belittled" as many on these boards try to do. Personally I don't have a problem with any of the recent changes, but I can see how some would, my biggest problem is that too many castmembers are just rude these days - granted I only encountered two bad cm's last week - but that is two too many for me - so I have submitted their names to guest relations. We each have our own feelings of what is and what is not important to our Disney experience and all opinions should be respected - not jumped on with so called facts and figures that tell otherwise. It is ok to agree to disagree.

about NEMO

"please don't put DISNEY FISH in the DISNEY FISH ATTRACTION"

What makes people think like this?

Because they don't think characters have a place in Epcot. Even if those characters bring the pavilion back to life.

Funny how some of those same people are all about bringing Dream Finder back.

Believe me, I was attacked a lot here because of my opinion about Mission:SPACE... And the insensitivity people have here is unbelievable too.. But, such is human nature... the attitude is ebst described as: DISNEY GIVE ME WHAT I WANT, HECK WITH THE POPULAR OPINION!!!!

I sorta agree with planet7, in that while Soarin' is a nice attraction and attracts more people to the pavilion (although there doesn't seem to be a story, which seemed a little odd, but anyway..), the food court area looks like it could be virtually anywhere. You could plop that food court down in any mall or airport terminal and it would fit right in. Yes it's nice because it's brand new and trendy looking (and the new kitchen facilities are nice for the castmembers), but there's very little theming. The old food court had separately themed building fronts for each food station, some with window displays. Yes some of that was starting to get older looking, but I think they could have come up with new storefronts for each one, or something a little more creative. I'm sure they did spend quite a bit of money on the refurb, but I don't always think money is the issue, I think it's creativity. It just looks like they contacted some designer who usually designs spaces in public buildings like malls, and said, "here's an ample budget, create a food court that looks 'airport-ish' and tie it in to the wall coverings around the attraction".

but doesn't orlando have other aquariums? Disneyfying is what makes it special at Disney. Petsmart has a fish tank or two also, you know.

I'll quickly remind everyone that i started this thread...

Then remind them that I have been a strong supporter of adding Nemo the Living Seas.

I'm just unhappy with the idea of taking down the mural.

Hey, Merf. Don't sweat it; yes, you have the right to the way you feel and to express it here. Most people who disagree with you are going to be vocal about it anyway. (hence the term:vocal minority.)

I appreciate your posts and updates.

I believe you have that backwards. I doubt many find this to be an issue at all and the ones that do are in the minority. Get outside a fan forum and that number drops to an insignificant amount.

But we are on a fan forum.

Anytime anyone expresses an opinion that isn't liked by others, they will be taken to task, especially here !

This forum has 36,882 members. When was the last time you saw someone's opinion being supported by more than the people that took them to task.

Hence=vocal minority !

This thread has really made me think about why we put walls around construction projects in the first place. Common sense is that they are there for safety, but some of the old timers always said they were there to keep the curious eyes off of them. As of now I am leaning towards the latter of the two :D

I'm about to say 'bye-bye' and find somewhere with a few less idiots... Count yourself in the group mentioned above. It hasn't occurred to me simply because it's not true.

Gotcha. Everything is black-and-white, absolutely nothing in between, and whatever side you're on is the one and only right one.

You have absolutely no clue about the real world.

Wow, you got all that from one post? You're good!

wannab@dis said:
You can try to 'imagine' but then again, most of what you wrote was just imagination since it has no basis in fact.

If you say it, it's good enough for me. Disney can do no wrong. Thanks for setting me straight! Gee, if I hadn't gotten on this board and had you feed me your opinions as "fact", I might have stumbled through life actually--gasp!--thinking for myself! You've saved me a great deal of work. From now on, I'll come to you for answers on everything. It may become a bit tiresome for you, but hey, that's the price of being an oracle, isn't it?

wannab@dis said:
Post all you want. But be ready for others to disagree and point out how glaringly wrong you are. Nothing is perfect... but, everything is not bad either. If so, why are you even on this board?

Reasoned disagreements, spirited discussion, debate--it's all good. But such utter nonsense and bile as you've spewed here is not. Too many people are scared off from posting valid ideas and insights, becuase of narrow-minded bullies such as yourself. I'm not one of them. As long as I see something worthy of responding to, I will.

wannab@dis said:
So, the addition of Soarin was not a bad change, huh? That almighty bad clone with nothing new and nothing groundbreaking increased the guest counts? How horrible.

Did you even read what I wrote? Or just launch right into "rant mode"? Apparently you're not programmed to respond in areas that don't fit with your black-and-white view of the world (or at least of Disney).

Some people don't want to see or like change, some do - it doesn't make either side right or wrong.

And some (despite what others would have you believe) don't see the issue as so black-and-white.
