A baby compared to the clicking clock threadWell, this thread is a year old today.
Very cool! When was this taken? I've seen a nose to nose pic of monorails parked in the Contemporary but I've never witnessed it in person or ever saw the doors closed
The INNOVIA 200 is not just Mark VI compatible, it pretty much is the Mark VI. The efficiencies Las Vegas has over Walt Disney World are automation, interior design and level entry. All of those can be done without new trains.
I've seen the nose to nose in person a few times. Was told it's common on cold nightsVery cool! When was this taken? I've seen a nose to nose pic of monorails parked in the Contemporary but I've never witnessed it in person or ever saw the doors closed.
Thanks Martin!
Unfortunately since the accident they no longer park them nose to nose. On cold nights they just keep the unstorable trains running on the beam all night. If they don't its a good chance they wouldn't start again in the morning.
Between the paint shop & all the maintenance scows I don't think all ten bays are usable.Question: From what I understand, and I may be way off; there are 12 monorails total, and 10 slots in the "Shop" so only two monorails have to be out at night, couldn't one monorail be parked on each beam inside the contemporary? It looks like there would be room for the pilot to exit the monorail on the express beam even though it is not an actual station for the express beam. I am not arguing, I am just curious.
No worries, its a good question and makes sense.Question: From what I understand, and I may be way off; there are 12 monorails total, and 10 slots in the "Shop" so only two monorails have to be out at night, couldn't one monorail be parked on each beam inside the contemporary? Pretty much nailed it on the head. The paint shop takes one stall, not to mention the tractors that are stored there. Normally at least 3 trains are left out, sometimes more.Between the paint shop & all the maintenance scows I don't think all ten bays are usable.
As far as express in the Contemporary, both sides are stations. There is a procedure to board resort guests there during peak crowds - both on the north & south concourse. I've done it

Odd question and perhaps my eyes are playing tricks on me but does it appear that the gold monorail is sitting slightly higher then the silver? Are some trains different heights or is the one have a load on it? Just curiosity is peaking me tonight.Very cool! When was this taken? I think Monorail Silver may be a Mark IV.Odd question and perhaps my eyes are playing tricks on me but does it appear that the gold monorail is sitting slightly higher then the silver? Are some trains different heights or is the one have a load on it? Just curiosity is peaking me tonight.
I think Monorail Silver may be a Mark IV.
Nor would Stitch have been around. That's what I get for looking on a small screen.Them doors don't open and close like a Mark IV though...
My first guess was a wrap, but none of the monorail's are currently wrapped or away for wrapping as far as I am aware of now. The only other thing I could think of is bad lighting. Other then that you might be on to something.So...
Late one night this vacation (12/20 to 1/4) my son and I saw an all black monorail passing through the TTC while we were transferring from the resort monorail to the EPCOT monorail.
Anyone have any idea what that is about?
