RUMOR: New 2011 discounts being announced for Walt Disney World

We've heard some VERY juicy rumors that a new round of discounts are set to be released on Monday (Aug 16th).

First - it looks like there will be room rate discounts available for arrivals from early October 2010 through mid-February 2011. There will likely be some blackout dates in there (namely Christmas week).

Second - there may be a gift card / package promotion available along with those reduced room rates. No word on how much, but tantalizing none the less.

But, the biggest and juiciest rumor we're hearing is that they will be announcing FREE DINING dates for 2011 in the next day or two!!!! What we're hearing is that the dates being released will be 'somewhat similar' to the dates released for this year - BUT there may also be some free dining dates released for earlier in the year as well.

The booking window for these promotions is rumored to be from August 16-November 21st.

I want to stress that these are RUMORS, not fact - but the source is good and I expect to see these released on Monday.

Saw this on my Facebook today too. Am hoping they release some kind of discount for our March trip. A room discount, a buy 4, get 3 free would be nice. Maybe a gift card for each room!!!! :shrug:

Here's hoping anyways!

So is the "rumor" hinting that in addition to the room discount we'd also get a gift card on top of it type of deal?

we have already put a deposit on our trip for late jan with KingdomKonsaltants, we planned to pay the full price as it is and were just thinking then if or when the discounts do come it will seem that much sweeter!!


I will be checking every min tomorrow!

I know we got the buy 4, get 3 free discount AND a $200 gift card for each room (we had 2 rooms) when we went in March 2009. Was hoping for something close to this next March when we go.

We had our March 2009 trip paid off by December of 2008 and then a nice discount came out. WDW refunded us the difference. Was REALLY nice to have Disney send US a check for once! :ROFLOL:

This was almost as good a deal as free dining but only if you are staying only 7 nights. We took advantage of it for 11 nights. Wasn't the greatest discount, but better than free park hopper and water parks in the WINTER like they did for so many years.
