Rumor lightyear update to the buzz actions in the parks.

So Twitter User SchwartzMobile is claiming that they completely made up this rumor to see if it would be reported.

@ToTBellHop , you said you heard this in discussions? đź‘€
I think, as others said, there’s no way this isn’t being kicked around at some level, so it’s a sort of safe thing to vaguely “report” even though there’s nothing any more substantial than what likely happens every single time a film with the potential to be successful is about to release. That way they can pull a “you heard it here first” if it does happen or just let it fade away otherwise.

Well it's not like it's something wild and out of left field -- I think most people could guess that there's at least a chance they'd do some kind of overlay/update if the movie is a big success. Both for synergy with the new film and to be able to market a new attraction.

I think Coco and Encanto seem to be in this category. Yet, I haven't seen anything significant with overlays for them. IIRC, this board was speculating that there'd be a Coco overlay for Mexico (I like the idea, I just wouldn't want to lose the 3 Caballeros). Nothing ever happened there. Well, we did get a Mariachi band that summer. That was awesome!

I don't know of anything regarding Encanto that showed up in any of the parks. I guess both are represented in the barge show. So, not all bad, I guess/

Journey to Imagination ( current version) and Buzz are nearly the same age. Buzz gets many more riders than Figment. While Buzz really needs a refurb too, I would say Figment would be a better use of refurb dollars. It would make more of a impact for Epcot than buzz would for MK.
They blew half a billion on a roller coaster plus paid hundreds of millions more to tear down a perfectly good building to build some fountains. Then add a hundred or so more for oil rigs.

They don’t know how to appropriate funds.

For the billion dollars they're spending, EPCOT should be well on its way to feeling like a brand-spanking new park.

Instead it seems it will merely be a different kind of mess. A mess with a Roller Coaster.

I don't think a Coco overlay for 3 Cabelleros was ever realistic. That ride has an absolutely tiny queue. Anything that significantly increased the number of riders would require some relatively major construction work for an expanded queue, either outside of the building (which might require getting rid of the tequila stand) or a major overhaul of the interior.

It was very realistic. But you’ve also identified some reasons why it didn’t happen.

That might have been an issue years ago. Genie, VQ, ILL, Boarding Groups etc. You don't need a large physical que.

No, I don't. The "art" in question here is a movie. It does reflect the creators' vision. However, when their world view doesn't match mine, I refuse to be their patron. I do understand the role of art as a challenge to current views. I don't think the excesses I'm seeing should be in a children's film. As such, I don't be paying for it.
You sure do have a lot of different ways of saying that same-sex kisses make you feel icky and you don't believe that the LGBTIQA+ community should have this representation in a Disney movie. I bet you think that a heterosexual kiss being shown would be completely fine...

That's what I meant -- that those stumbling blocks were going to keep it from happening, not that Disney wasn't considering it.

It's not the kind of thing where they could just quickly/relatively cheaply throw up some characters in the existing ride.

Yes, I was clear it’s discussions, not in development. This is commonplace with any tentpole film release. There are no concrete plans. I was speaking off the cuff suggesting a long refurbishment because it would need to be for such a change.

They are discussing Encanto attractions, too. Not sure why DL got the immediate go ahead for new offerings while stagnant WDW gets a shorter KiteTails.

They are incredibly unlikely to build a ride that doesn't eventually have a standby option for multiple reasons -- and even if they did, there still needs to be space in a queue for certain scenarios.

There's a reason they didn't build short or non-existent queues for rides like Ratatouille and Guardians of the Galaxy.

And Mexico is already a complete disaster lately without adding more chaos to it with a new attraction

It also didn’t help they wanted to keep a Three Cabelleros presence in the park and their new home was to be the Brazil pavilion.

No disrespect intended, sorry if it came across that way! I just tagged you to see if you could weigh in on the possibility that it was true that this person’s email snowballed into the story being posted. It’s super easy to fake an email screenshot, so I was just curious how/if this affected the possibility of any of this at all. Keep being the best 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
