Rumor confirmations

#7- I'm pretty surprised about this as all construction now seems to be DVC, DVC, DVC. - I wonder if it has to do with the extensive water pollution issues at what was River County and how much it will cost to clean that up to do anything there.

8- I would love if it was all the Muppetland stuff that was proposed. That would be such a great area for all ages.

4- I suppose this all hinges on how well Be Our Guest works. If its a disaster, I doubt that this new place will also run on the same 'flex' idea.
Did you all ever see the Youtube video of the guys walking around the "left" grounds of River Country? Very spooky! I hope they do something w/ that and soon!
Also- The Golden Oak project looks great, but unfortunately only for the more fortunate folks!

How would you place the Hat behind the Chinese Theatre without it looking as though the Chinese Theatre was wearing the hat? Directly behind the Chinese Theatre is the transition between Mickey Ave and Pixar Place, so it would have to be built over the walkway or on top of Toy Story Midway Mania!.
Isn't the hat like the "hub" of DHS? Has anyone seem the Buena Vista St @ DL? Lokks a lot like Sunset Blvd @ DHS, and Cars Racers looks a lot like TT. Interesting...

I've definitely been hearing rumblings (beyond those on this board) about Fantasmic. There were other rumors about Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast being changed out at DHS as well as hope for American Idol being removed. I don't know how much of these last 3 shows was more fanboy speculation than actual rumor however.

Unrelated to the list presented by the Original poster, but related to rumors. It sounds like there is a significant refurbishment coming to the
Polynesian as well.

Yes Beast and Mermaid make so much sense. I think that's a little more than fanboy speculation. Also I was at the Poly today, it looks like the first phase of the refurb has started. I looked to see if it was our boys working on the scene, but nothing was visible.

What type of refurb are you talking about?

Yes, i was wondering what kind of refurb also. I will be staying there in Sept. All I heard were plans for DVC but I didn't think that would be starting for a while

They based Buena Vista Street off of Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards in DHS, just from an earlier time period (1920s in DL vs 1940s in DHS). And Cars Racers is a more advanced, state of the art version of Test Track's ride system.

One thing to me that is a no brainer would be to close "Pizza Planet" in its current location and build a new one (that looks like the movie of course) in Pixar Place. In its place, how about a Swedish Chef Smorgasbord?

I like the way you think! I love "Pizza Planet" but if we were fortunate enough to get a new building for it that resembled the actual one from the movie, I'm game. I love the idea of a Swedish Chef Smorgasbord restaurant, now that would be another fun way to integrate more Muppet related fun into DHS.

He wasn't instigating trouble. He made a point that the insiders...people who can actually back up what they say and have insight into the internal workings at Disney can actually confirm or deny rumors and their statements can actually be respected. It's not about someone being more "special" than another person...some just legitimately are privy to more information than others. Jimmy just made up his usual load of BS after he snorted some more Pixie Dust. You have a very strange definition of the word "wit" if you consider Jimmy's posts witty.

I have been saying this for months and I back you two up...no pixie dust...but Lee I will say is the standard on offering insight and realism through effective communication.

I just found this forum and this is my first post. I've been going to disney world my whole life and I'm always interested in new rumors whenever they circulate. I think the Avatar land can certainly give the animal kingdom a face lift by providing nighttime entertainment that will allow the park to be open after dark. The fact that it closes so early, even during the summer months, is a major reason as to why people consider it a half-day park. There are no details on the types of attractions that will be in the area, but I'm sure that once they eventually remove FoTLK and the rest of CMM, there will be a lot of room for expansion (I'm hoping for a show, an E-ticket and least a dark ride ...because a dark ride is the one thing animal kingdom lacks) As for the Hollywood Studios, I feel like a Star Wars land is gonna be pushing it. Although I'm a huge Star wars fan, think Star Tours 2, the jedi academy, and Star wars weekends is enough from that franchise. Also, that is why I feel Universial is making a mistake with Harry Potter. They found a topic to rival disney but now they are just going overboard adding another Harry Potter land. I feel that is going to backfire on them and they aren't going to take much away from disney. As for things to add to the Hollywood Studios, I wouldn't mind removing the Beauty and the Beast show since they are adding the entire area in the magic kingdom dedicated to that. also I feel like princess stuff shouldn't be in the Hollywood Studios (except for maybe fantasmic) cause it doesnt fit with the themeing of the tower of terror and rockin roller coaster right next door. I would like to see pixar place be expanded, but without the carsland because I feel that they can do a lot more with the space that will take up. Add a monster's inc coaster next to toy story, then maybe something with Up? (i like that movie, only reason why I'm saying that) and I'm sure there will be plenty of pixar movies in the future if one of the past movies doesn't fit the bill of an E-ticket attraction. Other than that I would like to see the Avatar land go up first, then deal with the Hollywood Studios. But thats just my opinion.

First, welcome! That's an interesting thought about Avatar Land allowing the AK to close later...though, I think they will have to offer more than just Avatar Land to justify the park opening later than it does. If you can only ride Everest and Avatar Rides and It's Tough to Be a Bug, I'm really not sure that will entice people to stay. Does Kali Rapids have lights? I don't think they'd be able to keep that open with lights, which might ruin theming.

I think people would be very sad if Beauty and the Beast left. It seems to be one of the more well liked shows on the property but it is old and could probably use a revamp of some kind soon. I agree about less princess stuff or no princess stuff in the magic kingdom but not necessarily because of theming issues. I just think, as much as I love the princesses, if Disney shoves the princess stuff down our throats anymore, we just may choke, lol.

More Pixar definitely doesn't seem like a bad thing. I for one, would actually love seeing Carsland at WDW but I'd like to see additional stuff besides it as well. An Up ride would be cute though I'm quite particular to Wall-e myself :) I actually wouldn't even mind another Star Wars ride provided it was significantly different from Star Tours. As cool as that ride is, we don't need a similar one. Maybe they could do something where Jar Jar Binks takes you on a tour of Tatooine.... kidding. ;) But the Star Wars universe is a pretty rich place just like Potter (see my comments below) and there is a lot they could do with it if they wanted to and still keep it from being stale.

Lastly, I will have to disagree with you about what Universal is doing with Potter. If they had the space, I suspect the original area would have been much bigger than it is. It's not very big right now. If they had gotten most of the visual things from the book series into that first area, I'd say maybe they would be going overboard as they would have to make stuff up but its a rich world and there is plenty still to be pulled from the books, which remain popular. Not sure how it could possibly backfire on them as I've seen many people who want to make a return to Uni once it is built. Not to mention that the rides in development sound spectacular. I think it will just up attendance more and more. Check out the Universal thread for further discussions of what is coming.

If they did kali right with some "full moon" type lighting, and plus up some of the fire effects it could be a really neat ride at night

I like that idea. I wouldn't think it would be that expensive...though with WDI, they seem to make everything more expensive than it should be... but I do especially like the idea of the fire effects. Maybe they could add some sort of nocternal animal exhibit/attraction so you could at least see some animals at night. I still do think there needs to definitely be another big addition besides Avatarland to justify it staying open later.

I think it depends on how big will be, if it is one e ticket and a dark ride they will need something else

Just speculating here. The "smoke" regarding the DHS rumors; could they have been caused by the recent visit to WDW by John Lasseter? If I was the founder of Pixar and walked into Pixar place at DHS, I would certainly expect to see more than 1 ride, 1 souvenir kiosk, 1 meet and greet, and a sign. To slowly stroll through Pixar place takes all of 10 seconds. It was clearly built and placed with more in mind.
