Roger, Roger, Roger....

1.2 innings pitched
9 hits
8 runs
3 earned runs

OY!!

It's so bad, all you can do is shake your head and laugh. Not what you're expecting for your investment.

Its embarrassing. We saw him pitch Saturday in Baltimore... he needs to learn to let go, his time has come and gone. :lookaroun

Two weeks ago I said to my fiance that the Red Sox would go for a bullpen pitcher just to keep it out of the Yankees' hands. Eric Gagne...welcome to the best bullpen in baseball.

Hard to believe... August 11th, 5 out

Team.....W.....L.....PCT.....GB

Boston...69....46....600......-
Yanks....64....51....557......5

I wanna thank the SOX for making this close. I didn't think we'd see a race this year. The Yanks are playing good ball, the Sox having their normal August funk. Who da thunk it?

Every single one of us that lives and Boston and panicking when we were "only" up by 14.5 games.

Hard to even imagine the pain you guys must feel watching a huge lead evaporate. Sox fans have to be the most loyal fans in the world.

Starting with last night, the Yanks have some 20 games in 21 days, all with teams in contention...including 3 with Boston at the end of the month. It could be a very interesting September! :sohappy:

Go back and look at all of our posts...never once did we count the Yanks out.

We know how every season goes...

The Yanks fans aren't use to seeing their team be back so far...

The Red Sox fans are use to seeing leads go "poof"

Although...really the only lead that counted when it went "poof" was in 2004 when the Sox three games behind....in the postseason ;)

Clemens and Pettite aren't themselves this year...

Wang and Mussina are going to be the starters to carry the Yanks.

I gotta agree with ya on all points. Any Boston fans that I know never felt confident that almost 15 games was enuf to bury the Yanks.

As of tonight... only 4 out.:sohappy: I just hope the Yanks aren't peaking too early.

I am real nervous about Mussina. It looks like he constantly throws a change-up. Big motion...and the ball flutters in as if he's throwing batting practice. If he doesn't have a lotta movement on the ball, he gets belted around the park. I swear you or I could throw harder than that guy.

Wang is terrific.

Pettite's record doesn't reflect how well he's pitched all year. The Yanks blew leads for him and some of the games he lost were because the Yanks didn't have an offense. Andy has one of the best pick-off moves ever and I really enjoy watching him pitch.

Roger...well, history may very well show he wasn't needed.

Yanks out by 5 as of this morning. It looks like we're shaping up for a great September. The pressure is on both the Sox and the Yanks to keep winning or lose pace with the other.

LOL... The AL West is the hot ticket on the left coast this week. The Mariners and Angels meet up and this could be the first rounds fired in the battle for the pennant.

That race is exciting!

As far as the Yanks/Sox goes...when it gets down to within 4 games...it's exciting...but if it's any more than that in either direction...it's just "eh."

(Don't get me wrong...I can't wait for the upcoming series! )

Anyone see the article recently on The Onion about the reaction of fans to the Yankees recent surge? I'd link to it here, but it's full of adult language and I wouldn't want the younger crowd to accidentally see it. Needless to say, it's pretty funny and actually sounds accurate.
