RNRC Re-Theming Rumors...... again

I'm all for plussing up RNRC, whether it's an add on or complete retheme. It's one of the cheapest looking rides that they've created. I like riding it, but not because of the design of the props, but for the coaster itself. It's a nice change up from people movers and stage shows. My biggest gripe with it (besides the cardboard props and glow in the dark paint) is the ride length is a bit too short.

From the article: "Correction: Nov. 16, 2018

An earlier version of a map with this article misstated the Walt Disney Company’s plans for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at its Hollywood Studios park. The company has no current plans to upgrade the ride"
Or could it be “The company has asked us to state that the company has no current plans to upgrade the ride"

It's also interesting to note when you watch their videos previews of thew rides that runs 24/7 on the hotel channels, the video of Rock N Roller Coaster is a dummy film with real dimensional sets instead of plywood flats.
While I always enjoyed this ride, the theme and placement always seemed odd...What does Aerosmith have to do with the storytelling of Sunset Boulevard in the Hollywood that never was? It always seemed out of place and odd... If it had been themed with the original concept of Superstar Limo before the completely changed it, it wuld have worked...Or many other Hollywood related themes... So I welcome the idea of something a bit more thematically tethered to the idea of the park...

They had no "current plans" to get rid of PUSH, either. ;) So ... lol. I'm sure, as of November 16th, they were accurate in stating we have no current plans.

The backstory of G-Force Records is one of many examples of Imagineering conjuring up some convoluted explanation for placing something where it does not thematically fit. I'm willing to excuse it though because it does fit the overall theme of the park and they kind of had to place it where they did.

Thank you. You're so spot on. And I excuse it too. It's fun and slightly fitting. A stretch, but not the worst stretch. I've long been OK with a re-theme but find it hard to see it being a priority. It was a "quick fix" (oooh coaster), in a way. They still did a nice job for what it is, but I'm down for something different someday soon-ish.

(Not really to do with your post, but ...) I also wish people would stop using wait times as a guide for popularity. It's in a park with little to do, still, and it's a coaster. Bam. Not that they didn't do a nice job with it and I know people do seem to love it. But is it because of Aerosmith or is it because it's a coaster?

I could see RNRC becoming any of the following things:

-Monsters Inc. Scream Coaster (pls no)

-Incredicoaster Indoor Edition (pls no)

-Rock 'N' Roller Coaster Starring Place Band Here (yes pls)

-Mickey's Rock 'N' Roller Coaster (eh)

-Powerline Live & Ride (YAS)

Dr Teeth and Electric Mayhem

If only.

I could see a CARS overlay. Or Incredibles. Not really sure what else. Both of those make sense for the park in a way. Monsters doesn't seem high on their list but there is a new show coming to Disney+ (lol, really?). I could buy Radiator Springs behind Sunset Ranch Market I guess. But probably never gonna happen. So an overlay attraction it is! LOL. Just kidding, I have no clue. Just guessing. CARS sells merch. How much does The Incredibles sell?

I think the point is that if they're going to overhaul a ride, they should do it in a way that doesn't make it seem outdated in a decade or more.

How many actors have played the Hulk?

I won a pair of 3D Tony Stark / Iron Man glasses at a movie theater's trivia contest in between a double header of Avengers 1 and the premier of Avengers 2. They included "Bruce Banner" so being the oldest in the theater, I knew about Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno (not bringing up he was 'David Banner' in the series) and added Eric Banna, Ed Norton, and Mark Ruffalo. 🕶

Anyway, it's clear that RnRC should become Incredicoaster; ToT become ToT, but with Doctor Strange as the host; the theater become GotG Dance Party (the Summer show seemed to be well-recieved); and then use the FoP tech to make a Baymax ride in place of Fairfax.

^I'd actually argue against putting any Marvel into Tower of Terror (shocking, I know). Why not translate the Tower of Terror story from DisneySea but do it better?

Even if it ends up being a standalone attraction, I'm sure most park guests would rather have a Tower of Terror attraction rather than losing it.

Is there even any reason to re-theme Tower Of Terror? It is one of the most immersive and beautifully designed attractions at WDW... it is a truly complete experience...setting up as you walk down Sunset.. the gates and grounds and even the exit, all beautifully done....

The upcoming remake will probably raise a lot of money for disney to use the licence. And disney does not want to pay that much.

That’s not uncommon the promo videos are often quite a bit of fiction as compared to the reality. Look at the Tower of Terror promo spots where guests stood up in an elevator. A lawsuit eventually forced them to stop showing it off property.

Disney doesn't want to pay for third party IP's they don't own anymore. That's the only reason
