Disney was kicking around a Black Hole remake, but that project has stalled. Maybe they can now send John McClaine into space to save the International Space Station from Hans Gruber's son who has hacked the computer system and installed Windows ME on all the operating systems.

A Black Hole series or remake on Disney+ seems ideal, but they seem to be going all in on Marvel and Star Wars shows. So we may not get to see smaller scale productions for awhile.

Aren't they scuttling a theatrical release of a live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp or Dalmatians for Disney +? Don't remember which. Sorry, I'm making dinner. Someone here surely knows. And they're also kicking around The Chronicles of Prydian (gasp! The Black Cauldron!!!) as a live action adaptation...if that happens, and it's a big if, gotta figure that's going to be Disney+, too.

The Black Hole remake was supposed to be Joseph Kosinski's follow up to Tron: Legacy. That may be why you see it referenced in that movie.

When Tron 2 didn't deliver as expected, the project was scrapped. Now that Disney owns Star Wars, any in-house Disney sci-fi is considered useless. (except Disney is rethinking how much Star Wars it can get away with now that Solo proved the franchise is not invincible).

It looks like Lady and The Tramp was always meant for Disney+. Looks like all mid-budget movies are headed to Disney+ vs Theatrical.

I meant sci-fi movies and series on Disney+ look like they will be limited to Star Wars and Marvel projects, no Tron or Black Hole projects. I don’t know if the Stargirl movie (not to be confused with DCU’s Stargirl series) is a real movie or more of a DCOM.

For sure. DH was stuck on IASW as a child and I think that event still colors his perception of Disney. Anytime that ride is mentioned he’ll tell his story: “The ride stopped.... but the music didn’t”
