RNRC Re-Theming Rumors...... again

Well... All three of my boys like Aerosmith. :) I said I'd take them to their farewell tour, but they seem to have taken up a residency in Vegas, so that plan is on hold.

Well, they haven't put out a decent album since the early 90s. (I'm pushing 40 and all my friends think my love for Aerosmith is weird. Some younger coworkers have never heard of them.)

I feel that way about live-action adaptations of movies as well. I think Universal should have went with original designs for Potter based on the novels rather than the Warner Brothers / Daniel Radcliffe version of everything.
I’m going to disagree with you about Potter and Uni, I think that turned out fine.

I know this gets flack from some people, but I think Uni made the right decision with Superhero Island. Spider-Man doesn’t need to be updated every 5 years because it’s animated, and I hope Disney takes that into account when they build the attractions at Disneyland. I think the Hong Kong Iron Man attraction keeps Stark in the suit the whole time, right? (I only watched the ride video once, so I’m not positive).

It's great the way it is. Will the Aerosmith theme be out of date someday? Sure, but I think RnRC as it is still has 15-20 years left of relevancy. And even then, I'd hope they keep the whole "Hollywood" centered plot and just change out the band. If it ain't broke...

I think Aerosmith isn't "Disney" enough for Bob. Wouldn't be surprised if they change it for that reason alone.

Under the new IP-everything, it's not really a surprise they'd be looking at RnRC. More family friendly, timless, etc. remember? LOL

I'm for a re-theme. I like Aerosmith but it's going on 20 years. It was a novelty at the time and I'd be good with a re-theme (it's still a fun coaster but I've never felt this was "lifelong"). However, I'd also like other things done first ...

The RnR retheme reminds me so much of the "new movie for Star Tours" and "replace the Indy Stunt Show" rumors. We all know that at some point its going to happen.

Exactly this. It's only a matter of "when" ... LOL

Honestly, I hope Aerosmith stays. Not because it is perfect, but because that money could be spent on things that are in much worse shape.
Off the top of my head for HS:
BatB show
VolM show
Indy show (alter, dont eliminate)
Fantasmic upgrades
Launch Bay change
Disney Jr
Path of the Jedi change

There is nothing wrong with RnR, it still pulls in decent crowds, people enjoy it, and it is still one of the few rides in a park without too many (6).

You know "Aerosmith" is, itself, IP. Right? Just like "The Twilight Zone" is IP.

Honestly, I think most of the people who complain about IP don't actually have any idea what it means. At least Frozen is IP that Disney created rather than something they licensed off a third party.

They could already (and probably do) have plans for all of that. We've heard rumblings of new shows for years now for VOM/B&B but they never seem to commit (and we've also heard rumblings Launch Bay is on the list, so to speak). So they could have already decided and this is later ...

It's a problem this park has, a lot of things need work before it makes sense to re-do RNRC. But personally, I could see them thinking they have enough with Lightning's Racing Screenz opening up next year, Mickey and the two Star Wars attractions also opening next year (albeit not until probably around this time) ... in 2020 they could easily take RnRc down for a re-theme to re-open in 2021. Just a thought, I know absolutely nothing, LOL

But again, there's other things they should do first but I could see them thinking they could and continue to delay the theater shows being replaced, but I really think it's time to pull the plug on VoTLM.

Disney Junior also has a refreshed dance party show opening next year or next month? I don't remember.

So they likely, and this is my assumption only, think they can do it. If it's on the table. It could be years and years away too ... they still can't seem to decide on some things, LOL

As you said, it pulls in crowds, but any coaster would ...

I have already stomped on 70 and I still like their music. They aren't my favorite band ever (The Beatles have that honor), but, they have done some good, creative stuff. My only issue with them at this time... like the Stones, they are going to be tripping over their walkers before long.
True. Of course, I also think most music/albums put out in the past 20+ years in general are steaming piles of garbage.
It is hard to disagree with that at all. Pure nothing, nothing creative, nothing meaningful and nothing that doesn't require either talking the lyrics or making incredibly distracting swirly sounds with their voices. I can't even listen to it anymore. Which by the way is exactly the same thing that my parents said about the music I liked as a teen.

LOL. I'm not complaining about IP. And do you think Disney Executives view Aersomith as an IP? Please ...

Stop trying to put words into my mouth all the time good sir. Thanks :)
