i just hope disney makes the right move and stays with Aerosmith, whose with me???

also i would like to say, no other band would really fit it good especially with the name, i mean Rock 'N Roller Coaster starting Aerosmith just rolls off the tongue so perfect and its truly the perfect theme for the attraction

Back when the attraction was being concieved, there were a number of other bands considered, including U2, The Dave Matthews Band, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and yes, those 3 brothers known as Hanson.

Disney thought the latter would appeal to the teen set they were targeting that would otherwise be heading to Universal's new Island's of Adventure.

However, Aerosmith proved to be a good fit. With the change of the name from "Rock 'n Roller Coaster" to "Rock 'n Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith," the band gave Disney a favorable deal that allowed use of the songs as promotional, so no performance fees would need to be paid.

 Really?!?!? That would've been amazing!!! DMB is my favorite band EVER!!! I'd literally move down to orlando just so I could ride it everyday :D

However, Aerosmith is a great choice. If they decide to drop out, I'll talk to Dave and see how he and the band would feel about starring in RnRC ;)

I hope to god that my sarcasm meter is broken!! This band bores me to tears, and I work in the music biz(So that is saying a lot!)... That and I just sat through a 45 minute IMAX film that was supposed to be about the Grand Canyon(and billed as such!), but ended up being about global warming and 'water conservation' and the soundtrack was by DMB. I asked for my money back:brick:....

Seriously? What don't you like about DMB? Honestly they are my favorite band ever. Have you ever seen them live?

I'm a music business major and I know exactly what you mean. But i had to grow up on it. My whole family and friends love the band. I don't think their TERRIBLE compared to what's out there now a days but I would have asked for my money back too! But with Rock 'N' Roller Coaster? I just can't picture listening to Dave Matthews on a roller coaster, even their older stuff.

Now you know how the majority of us would feel if RnRC was changed to a HM, JB, or HSM soundtrack. ;)

Uh, where exactly did I say I WANTED any of those? I did use the adjective "lame" before I mentioned them. But, to each his own, and therefore a selection of different songs - even stuff I consider junk like High School Musical, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Red Hot Chili Peppers (Rockin' Space Mountain and California Screamin' rate #1 on my list of worst Disneyland changes EVER) and U2 (I consider these guys about as bland as Dave Matthews) - could be added to give people some kind of choice. I don't see it as being the queue nightmare some here do. Perhaps they could just set up kiosks outside the building and you make your choice before you get in line. If you choose not to select a song, the computer makes a selection for you at random.

Don't do that!

Just boycott RNR.

No, actually please do boycott DHS if it happens. If Disney were to be so stupid to use Hannah Montana in Aerosmith's place then they deserve to be boycotted at the park for that. Disney should know that they don't always create the best stuff on the planet. Sometimes it's good to go out and pay to get things like good music. So basically what I am saying is that I do not think Disney would EVER do something to stupid but who am I? They closed 20,000 Leagues to ultimately put in a Pooh Playground. (I know guys, they are "working on something big" to put there permanently.)We'll see. If they do change it to HM, then "IF" i ever ride it again, if would be a good idea for them to sell earplugs at the fastpass turnstile.

How much of a tightwad would one have to be to ask for your money back? I have seen quite a few bad movies and films before and just sucked it up and left. It would be different if you walked out within the first few minutes of the film but if you stayed the whole time, then you got the "full benefits" (if you wanna call it that on a bad film) of what you paid for, like it or not. It's like going to McDonald's, ordering a Crispy Chicken meal, eating it ALL and then going to the manager saying, "I didn't like this, it was cold, and I want my money back."

I thought I read someplace that the original band they wanted was the Rolling Stones...Anyway some of the bands mentioned in other threads are probably off limits due to involvement in that Hard Rock park in SC. In know there is a Led Zep ride and a Bon Jovi ride, not sure about Kiss.

Hopefully they keep Aerosmith :king:

Ummm...yeah...I'm just gonna slowly back out of the room and pretend I didn't read that.

I also heard that No Doubt was one as well. I could be wrong though
No Doubt was approached about the possibility of being involved in a DCA version of the ride, which of course was never built.

You've got your cup of tea, I've got mine. I've never sat and listened to an entire U2 CD, but everything I've ever heard on the radio pretty much has the same dull sound to it. Bono has a decent voice and I respect his political views; I just haven't heard anything yet that makes me want to continue to listen to his group...and certainly nothing that I can think of that would work on Rock n' Rollercoaster.

Disney would be stupid to replace aerosmith. The only other bands that can repalce aerosmith would be another hall of fame band.

I agree with you on this. If Disney took Areosmith out and put Hannah Montanna or the Jonas Brothers in, it would make me sick. Areosmith music will live on forever, unlike the HM & JB's fad. Not to mention that most adults are SICK of them already.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and still learning how this site works....If Disney does drop Aerosmith for some "fad" band this is bad- is every attraction going to be Disney show or movie based? what happened to more thought out attractions? It appears that this is just easier to make them out of a movie or show. Some of the best attractions are not movie or show oriented- Soarin'- EE - MS - TT - RRC and so on. Sorry about the spelling and abreviation I'll get em..

No definitely not... were just stating how we feel about the subject...the fate of rnrc is not on our shoulders...cool though it would be.
