Revised Fantasyland Artwork Released

Does anyone else think that Pixie Hollow should be Wonderland or Neverland, or something, instead of a whole area devoted to Tinkerbell and her direct to dvd movies that most people don't care about.

Yes! Lolz. Like you read my mind!!! Hahaha I love Pixie Hollow though. I think half should be for Pixies and the other half for Alice.:sohappy:

I honestly think it should be Wonderland. I love the decor around Alice in DL.

Don't really see the loop. Looks more like a first drop/lift hill to me than a loop.

I don't either. It looks too... asymmetrical, for lack of a better term, to be a loop.

I don't think that image is supposed to be a literal representation of the layout of the new coaster -- I think it's just artwork that's meant to be evocative and suggestive of the dynamic shapes of a coaster-type ride.

Yeah I agree as well.

Yes, Wonderland would be sooo much better. I wish I could see the source for this pic.

Totally agree, especially since we don't have an Alice in Wonderland dark ride of our own. Didn't someone say that "Wonderland Woods" was supposed to be one of the ideas floating around for that part of the FL makeover? Think how compelling it would be to see cutting-edge AAs of the singing flowers and bizarre plants from Alice in Wonderland -- not to mention an AA Caterpillar and smoke-emitting hookah.

I also think a Cheshire Cat coaster would be far cooler than a Casey Jr. coaster -- as well as unique. Casey Jr. can be adequately represented by an interactive, animated play element near the dueling Dumbos.

Say no more you'll make me feel differently towards this expansion! Lolz HAahaa

Well, I personally think Casey Jr. would be better though.

omg you gotta be kiddin me right.... ? because I'm pretty sure the fairies are awesome, and so are the movies! The should have their own place, and their own theming, and something that feels far away from the royal fantasy of the Princesses. PixieHollow.com is incredible... and if there could be a real life version of that anywhere... it would be awesome.

Overall, though... who really cares about another rendering of the exact same vantage point? It doesn't say enough... too bad they haven't done some renderings of the ground level view of some of this. I want to know what the height is going to look like around there... those mountains can't be as huge as they seem!

Looks nice enough. But artwork usually does.

The finished product is what matters. And who knows how much more money will come out of the budget before it is done?

This isn't DCA where John Lasseter stepped in and made sure money was ADDED.

The original pricetag was $750 million ... and the last figure I heard was a tad over $400 million. That should be enough to deliver what's been promised, but a lot can happen between now and 2011-14.
Well if they are cutting from one of the pointless meet-n greets Then I am OK with it.

I love how people over examine concept art before they even break ground on most of the project... Remember American idol's concept art and the final product?

Cost Estimate for Fantasyland and Star Tours

For what its worth:

"The estimated cost of the upgraded attractions and the construction work involved was not disclosed by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo in a Sept. 12 address at the first D23 Expo in Anaheim.

However, industry analysts who follow Disney's financial performance regularly estimate in published accounts the cost will be at least $1 billion."

That number also includes Star Tours II and I believe some of the other projects at the other Disney parks (Anahiem, Hong Kong). If it really is close to $1 billion for just Fantasyland then either Disney overpaid or theres some really eleborate stuff they haven't unvieled yet.
