Revised Fantasyland Artwork Released

No, like, I'm not!

But I do know that it's a growing franchise that has amazing opportunities, and it's a storyline that teaches great morals and lessons to kids. It's empowering for girls to be able to think that "tinkering" (engineering and thinking) is cool, and it's one of the ONLY Disney movies that I have seen where the heroine and hero are just best friends and don't have to fall in love at the end! So there's more to it than direct-to-DVD movies that "no one cares about" because there's no reason NOT to care about them. Tink finally has a backstory and isn't portrayed as a pouty little brat anymore. Disney is creating immersive experiences for Guests online in a virtual world, and having that area of the park could be a great opportunity to bring it to life.

You might have a point but having a wonderland area would have a lot more appeal than an area all about tinkerbell, who most people have only seen as a side character in peter pan movies. Also, a Wonderland would be good since Disney and Tim Burton are relasing a new live action Alice in Wonderland movie next year.

Also, I don't think the Tinkerbell fairy franchise is going to be very timeless either. Trust me, in ten years time people are going to be saying "Okay there's Tinkerbell, but who are all these other fairy characters?"

Cut? Nothing.
But...I am hearing of...um....trims already taking place. Nothing major, yet, but be prepared for some changes before the actual area opens.

Oh I hope that doesn't include the new Tea Cups roof. :(

oh interesting news your gonna laugh. i brought up the railroad train question where thats going to be and no one really knows. the managers have no idea it caught them off guard so that may go thru pixie hollow or they may expand the tracks 30 feet to the right and do a bigger loop their not quite sure.

Great, I knew a lavish mermaid ride was too good to be true. I know you didnt say mermaid of course, but I have a feeling they are going to cut some big corners with it and its going to be on the scale of the nemo ride instead of haunted mansion etc etc. Hopefully not.

Well, Pixie Hollow and Wonderland would both be great. Even though I think the Burton Wonderland is going to be hella creepy... but since a little piece of Neverland is already in the works, I'm just saying I think it should stay. I don't think that people don't care about it... I think they do.

I guess we'll see, but I still think they have more potential than people think.

I don't think that they'd cut on "Ariel's Adventure" since that (I assume) would be an exact clone of the one in DCA. I would guess they'd cut on other things which aren't being replicated. From the pictures posted above, minor changes have already been decided upon (with regard to landscaping.)

Well since it sounds like you seem to know a lot have you heard anything about giving FL West a facelift?

Do you know of anything specific?
Nope. Just that the trims are already taking place. My source also said that it wouldn't be out of the question for the "phases" method to be used.
As in Guest: "Hey, weren't we supposed to get X?"
Disney: "It remains part of the plan, and will appear during a future phase of the development."
*cough*Beastlie*cough*
Ariel, Dumbo and the B&B restaurant are safe. Everything else is subject to potential cutting or delaying.

Haven't heard, but I doubt it. They just did a lot of facade work over there, so I don't see them doing anything much on that end.

Beastlie?:lookaroun:lol:

At least, the very minimal "meat" of the expansion is safe, here. The M/G's will be nice thematically, and nice to look at, but killing them won't really help for capacity in the first place. Wes till have the ride, resturant, and the miniland, so that's good.

And Lee....You know I don't doubt your source...but would they really trim here? I kinda doubt that, seeing that this IS Glendale, and I have rumblings that this is full steam ahead, and very well received.

I doubt that LM will be "trimmed", at least the ride portion.

Agreed. If this doesn't get treated like DCA 2.0 I'll be suprised. And then become an ex-customer.

And the biggest doom and gloomer yet.

I don't think it will be treated like DCA, just because MK hasn't failed (in the biggest sense of the word, not our definition...:lookaroun)...However, it will be promoted a LOT.

And promotion is good...It'll get people to expect a lot out of this, and in so, Disney can't cut it without a lot of "Doom and Glooming" as you say. ;)

By DCA 2.0 treatment, I meant fully budgeted. I think what you see in the artwork is what will happen. I think the days of building expectations and then scaling back projects are definitely over.

I hope so. Though, read the thread....there are rumblings. Hopefully Glendale (Lassetter!) intervenes.
