Revenge

Just out of curiosity (No, I'm not going postal or anything), what are your thoughts on revenge...generally speaking. I'm not talking about violent revenge or anything, but just getting back at someone who did something absolutely out of line to delibrately harm you & your family...financially, while you were offering them help & a sincere opportunity at bettering their quality of life.

Do you believe it's better to let go, or are you someone who supports "payback"?

I believe that whatever you do to others, you pay for it here on earth... but I don´t believe in revenge. Everyone gets what he/she deserves. If you take revenge, that doesn´t make you any better than the person who harmed you on purpose, it in fact, makes you worse than that person. Time will tell... don´t worry... we pay for everything HERE on earth... :animwink:

So then if revenge is what you deserve than that's what you get.
I don't believe that things happen for a reason I think they just happen.
Because we all have free will.
The reason they happen is because of someone doing something not divine intervention.

My husband believes that what goes around, comes around. Everybody gets theirs...... I though, don't believe some people ever get theirs. They seem to keep getting away with all the wrong they do. I think I will start another thread asking about what I am referring to.

Well, since you asked:

I'm with Maria on this one:

Bad karma has to be paid off eventually. The best thing you can do is stay out of the way. I don't believe in intentionally inflicting malicious harm on a person for any reason that I can think of. Just don't let yourself be taken advantage of again and move on with your life. Things will work out; odds are you'll feel better about yourself years down the road if you just shake it off than if you go for blood.

I think obsessing about revenge takes more energy than just letting things go. Life's too short as it is - why waste time on people who aren't worth a second thought?

I am not typically a vengeful person at all. I'm way too peaceful for my own good, but some people just never seem to get what's due them no matter how many people they trample or use, they still seem to always be on top of things & getting it all at others' expense. Geez, I think I need a drink.

That has always been my way of thinking...completely. But, when you're constantly enduring hardship based on someone screwing you over after you saved their @ss, after you were used to having no hardship....well, it has a way of changing things. Sometimes, the issue is something that can't be let go...when it takes your livelihood & your finances from you. It goes beyond all the "someone stole my boyfriend" type issues. It's putting people's lives (literally) on the line & it just can't be let go.

Agreed..The Karma Train comes around and eventualy pulls into the station...and The evil ones...should stay off and away from the tracks...and not even think about boarding.

Choo Choo...all abord the Karma Train!

I personally think what goes around comes around, BUT in certain instances I have felt that I have just been unable to let something go, and have planned to hit back, and it has worked.

I tend to be quite calm, despite having a very stressful job (stressful because of other people, not due to excessive responsibility I might add). I can forgive, but very rarely forget.

I believe in revenge. Aslong as you have a good reason for it. Revenge is fun, and if you do it right...its perfect..because you made the other person feel like trash. lol I'm not gunna even mention what I did to one girl. :fork:

Revenge is fun to plot, but I always feel better about myself if I can refrain from going through with it!

Well said...besides, it gives me the opportunity to be the bigger person!

Ain't that the truth!!!!!!!!!!

I also believe that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. However, it seems the people who never get theirs are the ones who also live in a glass house.
