I'm sure that you're right. I really appreciate the way you're phrasing this as not being your cup of tea. TOTALLY reasonable, and lacking the melodrama that drips off of some posts on Disney boards.

I feel that complaining about the visual intrusions of the Guardians building while discussing/praising Rip Ride Rockit is a bit contradictory.

I praise the ride experience of RRR, but regret that beauty has become ever of lesser concern to USF. I always thought it the much prettier park of the two.

Why hide the Skyliner? EPCOT doesn't hide the monorail.

EPCOT shouldn't built additions it needs to hide. But additions it can proudly show. Admittedly, the Skyliner falls a bit in between.

Cleaning them helps dramatically. Honestly makes them look good as new. Unfortunately it isn’t done as often as we would like for a variety of reasons.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to know why they don't power wash the lines more often. I thought I read a while back that power washing tends to damage the cement?

At the risk of repeating my point, you and I both have an EPCOT picture for an avatar. Yet EPCOT's billions are going to be spend to appeal not to us, but to members here who don't have an EPCOT avatar, but selfies or character pictures. Something's off about that.

The thing is Disney already has you. They don't need to cater to you. They want to expand Epcot's appeal whether you like it or not because they know you'll still come to the park either way. This is just how it is.

I feel this statement is a bit of a hyperbole, but in any case, the coaster is a bit more complicated than "just add speakers." Individual rider control of soundtrack, onboard lighting effects, vertical lift, belt-style loading of coasters for higher throughout - I'd say it's a bit more fancy than what Six Flags has to offer - and calling it a "dime a dozen" coaster is far from an ample description.

Fun fact - the company that made the onboard control system for those coaster cars also manufactured the control system for kongfrontation. They still have a few control panels lying around.

How are the coaster's onboard electronics powered? Capacitors/batteries recharged during the load/unload process?

But it's not snobbery. We realise Disney is pop culture.

It is all more akin to eating for years at a really good family owned pizzeria, then slowly being driven out as the menu changes into franchised burger fare that you can get everywhere else because it makes the new management more money.

I'd happily admit to being a snob in both of these cases. Heck, I'm ok with people being snobs about their franchised burger chains!

As someone who fights constantly against mold/mildew on a concrete patio, I wonder if they've looked into options to prevent moss and mold growth like copper or zinc flashing? I'm experimenting a bit myself to avoid the damage that power washing does to concrete.
