Actually, you had a little more than that to say about it.

From your first post...

Little harsh for it just being a "pet peeve", don't you think??

What are you at? I have an opinion on something that bugs the heck out of me. Why is that such a problem for you?

Personally, I think that no one should write anything in the sky over Disney, not because of what they have to say, but because it ruins the magical fantasyworld that Walt was trying for. Skywriting just reminds us that there are guys out there in planes with opinions. That's not why people go to Disney; they go to be transported into a fantasy.

Just pointing out a couple of flaws in logic...

But seriously, nobody really thinks somebody else should get in trouble for annoying them, do they?? Let's not start dictacting what we think should be allowed and what shouldn't...because pretty soon someone is going to be doing the same thing to us.

Kinda like my "I hate Everest" thread getting deleted because I was critical of everyone's "favorite Disney attraction"?

My point is not to take everything a person says too literally. :)

We can't always help feeling one way or another. You can dictate a lot of things, but thought is not one of them ;)

I don't care if they are advertising Jesus, Don Imus, Free Pizza, or a Club, it shouldn't be allowed over WDW. Takes away from the feel for me, and I think they should find a way to stop it if they can.

Don Imus...hahahha! But I agree with you completely. Disney has a certain flight restriction above their property, right? They should extend it higher or something.

But is the sky above Disney private or public? That's an interesting point. If this individual was violating Disney's space, that would be solicitation and Disney would have to give permission. I'm assuming it's public airspace or Disney would have already put a stop to it.

If Disney owns all it's property as "fee simple" Then it is most likely that they do own the air space. But that does not neccesarly mean that they would own the space all the way up to 250 miles to the border of earths atmosphere. The ownership rights would some how stop at a certain height. The FAA regulates after such height and probly before such height is reached. If I'm not mistaken you could probly still right sky writtings out side of Disney air space and your preception from the ground because the height were it is written would look like it was above you somehow. There are cases in the state of Florida were wireless carries have had to go to court to argue points against Florida native tribes as to paying rights for there radio waves to transverse over native air space. I am not sure what the outcome of these situations have been or even if they are yet to be resolved. But all very intresting and I would imagine be more intensly focused on in the future because of our civilzations advancements in aerospace design and engernering, wireless systems, and radio broadcasts.

3000FT

And its hard to raise it further... due to planes on approach to MCO.

Hmm.. I don't remember hearing that airspace was closed that day. Nor do I recall there being a quiter time in my neighborhood other than the week after 9/11. But I do know that F-16s were deployed in my area and the same went for the other said areas. I guess that if they were deployed, the airspace was closed.

Also the air space to the east of disney about a hundred miles or so is restricted air space because of Cape Canavaral or better known as Kennedy Space Center.

Figure I would post the Notice to Airmen:

This NOTAM prohibits aircraft operations at and below 3,000 feet AGL, within a 3 nautical mile radius of the Disney World theme park (282445N/0813420W or the Orlando /ORL/ VORTAC 243 degree radial at 15 nautical miles). These restrictions do not apply to (A) those aircraft authorized by ATC for operational or safety purposes, including aircraft arriving or departing from an airport using standard ATC procedures: (B) DoD, law enforcement, or aeromedical flight operations that are in contact with ATC.

I am happy to answer, and then let you have the final word.

Personally, I think that no one should write anything in the sky over Disney, not because of what they have to say, but because it ruins the magical fantasyworld that Walt was trying for (FOR ME). Skywriting just reminds us (ME) that there are guys out there in planes with opinions. That's not why people (I) go to Disney; they (I) go to be transported into a fantasy.

There, I fixed this for you, because it is impossible for you to speak for everyone.

I understand it annoys you...excellent, you have every right to be annoyed. But thinking that someone should get in trouble for annoying you or ruining your magic is not logical. How many people may have been inspired by this skywriting, and never gave it a thought of ruining their magic...or how many never even gave it a thought, period. There are more people out there than just you or me.

I'm right there with you. I do not go to church but was raised in a christian faith. I would appreciate it a whole lot more if people would stop trying to shove religion and personal thoughts about gods down other peoples throats. And the last thing I want to see at my favorite place is a religious message in the sky. If they want to write it do it over another theme park maybe like universal. I saw the same thing when I was there in October and my happy day went to a horrible day. Disney is my sanctuary free from worries of bills, religion, and stress of the world. Skywrite somewhere else not where people who don't believe in Jesus but another god or goddesses go to get a vacation too.:fork:
