News Reimagined Toontown coming

I just saw on the permits thread that the sign for the ride was being installed, or at least a file for such was installed. It's a step in the right direction, but it doesn't seem to indicate anything really new.
I'm pretty sure there is a lot more happening behind the walls than just a sign being installed.

Its unlikely we're going to get weekly or even monthly updates on exactly what is happening behind the walls. We were lucky with the updates we've had so far, but that shouldn't be expected to happen regularly.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next update isn't until D23 in September. The is where I also wouldn't be surprised if we get an opening date for MMRR and the TT reopening.

I hope they do announce something about it then, if not sooner, and yet I can't help but feel they won't.

I know you like to know exactly what is happening, but you'll just have to be patient. We can't know everything that is happening all the time.

When Disney is ready to announce a reopening date, they will. And D23 would seem to be the most apropos time. Think of this like having to wait until Christmas morning to find out what present you got.

I brought up Toontown, mainly just that that was the thing I was looking forward to most from D23, but no one else seemed interested (and one even saying so). As of late, the discussion was either Tiana or Tomorrowland, or even joking about outrageous demolition of old lands just to replace them with other things. But Toontown appears to be ignored. The best-case scenario was a brief blurb from DSNY Newscast on speculation about what D23 will discuss, and even then, it was treated like an afterthought.

First, none one knows what Disney is going to present at D23 but Disney.
Second, most posters here are thinking beyond the Toontown refurb and MMRR. This is because its already a done deal, we already know about it, we're just waiting for it to be completed. Posters want to know what is the next project to come to DLR.
Third, its going to be completed, so don't think its not.

So just because some here aren't interested doesn't mean its not a project that others aren't looking forward to, they just may not post about it all the time.

Jack from DSNY here - I think it will get a mention onstage, as I'm expecting the announcement of a new scene for the DLR version of MMRR. I didn't mean to disrespect the project as a brief mention, but it was bundled into my existing projects segment of the video.

Unfortunately, I won't be there on Sunday, only Friday and Saturday. I will be going home Sunday.

I'm excited for Toontown to be finished, but the big announcement for that was last fall. An update on progress and a legit opening date would be nice though.

I hope they say something at D23, preferably at the show floor pavilion, since it's already been announced in a panel.

I like it, too. And you’re right, the purple-ish mountains look more realistic and not cartoony. I didn’t notice it until you said something.

I like the design/ workmanship and the view from Fantasyland looks good. Not sure how I’ll feel about it standing inside the land. Maybe this approach made more sense considering the size of the building they had to hide and how close it is.
