News Reimagined Toontown coming

The Avengers E ticket will more than likely be announced at D23 and we shall see the form they take for it. There are also rumors that a TL revamp will be announced there as well which is not shocking since Tokyo's TL is being revamped and it would not be that hard to copy it over to DLR. The big fish in the room for DLR at D23 will be the DL forward plans being confirmed and more concrete plans on how it will affect the parks. I am hoping that what will replace HollywoodLand will be hinted at or announced at d23 due to DL forward.
Yes I'm aware of the TL rumors (I do frequent this site daily you know), while it would be cool I don't think its on their radar just yet. So not likely to be announced at this years D23 in my opinion. maybe in 2024 (or whenever the next D23 is) for DL 70th anniversary. But who knows, maybe they want to make a big splash for the companies 100th anniversary.

But lets not clog up this thread with talk of other projects not related to this TT project.

I don't see that anyone posted these, but our friends over at RatSpeak have a couple new overhead shots:

And a shot looking from the currently blocked entrance showing the marquee of the El Capitoon being built:

I'm surprised they're able to keep getting the overhead shots, was expecting we wouldn't be getting much since work is being done deep inside the land. But happy they are able to since it shows some posters here that progress is happening, and that timelines aren't likely to slip.
Interesting how Goofy's House is in scaffolds, while Donald's Boat is untouched. I would think that it would be under scaffolding, too, since the plans called for it to be altered in some form as well.

Very likely they just haven't gotten to that section of the project yet. Or its possible that Goofy's is getting a larger alteration requiring a longer refurb than other sections of the project. However I wouldn't read too much into it at this point. Not every inch of the area will be under scaffolding at the same time. Notice how many of the other facades and sections are not under scaffolding yet either, even though we know its very likely they'll be getting a fresh coat of paint.

Yes
As we've seen from MANY patents submitted for ride systems by Disney, there is no guarantee its for a current project or even an existing attraction. Disney files patents for a lot of ride systems that end up not being used or not used in the way that the images submitted with the patent suggest.

So no I don't think this is for Roger Rabbit in DL's TT. Especially since the ride vehicle is not seen by guests very much while on the attraction, you know due to all the spinning. Think more Goofy's Sky School, or attraction similar to that.
I guess DHS needs Roger Rabbit land for now because this. WDW did not have any Roger Rabbit attraction yet.

At the recent shareholder event Chapek stated that the Avegers attraction was just on pause and that they were looking to bring back funding for it, hopefully soon. The same with the Mary Poppins attraction in Epcot.

So no I don't think it was scrapped altogether. Maybe they'll rework it, but I sort of expect we'll be hearing something about it at D23 later this year as they'll need something to announce for DLR.

Paused and different ride.

Would be nice if that patent was for some tech used on an Avengers coaster for the E Ticket attraction, would be physical thrills and they could do some cool stuff with an adaptive ride vehicle that changes based on what scene / scenario you are in on the ride. For some reason I doubt they will because they seem determined to make any E Ticket nowadays rely on screens and more mild movement / thrill so they can tell an immersive story even if that means a more boring experience for thrill seekers. What would be the last thrill ride we got as a new attraction and not a retheme?

At DLR it would be TOT in 2004. At Disneyland proper Thunder Mountain in 1979 unless you count Indy as a thrill ride. I don’t.

I’m curious to see if they are repurposed or they just get fresh paint, I thought Gadgets coaster was rumored to be changed also (to run 2 trains) but it doesn’t look like it’s been touched either.

The way things have been budgeted lately I would not be surprised if very little is changed on the existing structures/rides when it reopens.

I'd call Indy a thrill ride. It has a high height limit for the park and features a ride system which jostles you about pretty good. I find it more thrilling than Big Thunder (and I love Big Thunder). Splash even has a thrill element with the drop, hence the Ernest advertising campaign.

Actually if you look closer at the 4th pic I posted Gadgets has scaffolding around parts of it, so its currently being worked on right now as well.

I did notice but it looks like just paint on the hills behind it so far. If they were going to replace the track I’d expect them to start with that before painting but who knows what the plan is at this point.

Or its prep work to start removal of the hills behind. As I wouldn't think that it would be under scaffolding this early if it was just getting a fresh coat of paint, it would be a bit early for that.

I agree on Splash. I would consider that the last thrill ride at DL even if it’s not really in the traditional sense and the singing animals might throw you off a bit. Forgot it about as I was on my “BTMRR is the last coaster we got at DL” wavelength. I think to be considered a thrill ride you have to be first and foremost physically thrilling and Indy just never gets there for me.

Whatever ride they end up using this tech on it’s has to have mirrors right? Otherwise what’s the point?
I wonder if Disney would ever be willing to do like a dueling type of attraction. One where it pits a group of guests against each other in a competition, like a unique bumper cars, and the "damage" effects are part of that.
