Reflections of Earth improvements including new lasers

Saw the new lasers for the first time last night. A great improvement, especially the lasers on the islands. It was most noticeable there. Just seems overall like there is more color and a renewed intensity to the show.

I've seen ROE many, many times, but this was the first holiday tag I've ever seen. It starts out kind of slow but wow, that final barrage at he end is stunning. Couple that with the Processional and Holidays Around the World and I'll take Epcot over the MK Christmas Party any day for holiday park going.

Thank you for your comments.
Looking forward to seeing the new laser upgrades at some point in the future.
Much like yourself, i have seen 'RoE' far too many times to count over the years but it is always a pleasure to view.

Based on just the video footage, i can tell the intensity of the colors has improved.
This is great to hear for certain from those who have actually seen the show themselves recently.
Video never captures colors quite as they appear intensity-wise ( just the nature of the format ) but it is enough of a glimpse to clearly see there has been a nice improvement.
Fabness.

'Illuminations - Reflection of Earth' has always been my favorite Disney pyro show, with Disneyland's original version of 'Remember...Dreams Come True' a equal tie for awesomeness.
'RoE' however has an edge to it simply because of it's unique setting and the way it is staged on the water.
Always thought that was neat...from the Fire Barge elements, fountains, and of course the Earth ....it is unique and engaging.
Add into that the fact that during the course of the presentation it tells the story of Earth's creation and beyond....whoa.
Just a cool concept.
Love love love it. The score is fantastic in every aspect as well.

Really pleased to see it get these new upgrades.

Finally managed to find them in Martin's video. They launch at 11:55 and then you can just make out one of them explode at about 12:01.

It does look like a neat effect. Kind of a shame it gets lost/overpowered by the final barrage.

I think they provide a good deal of red and green contrast to the brightness of the strobing finale shells.

What, the little thing that explodes over by the island's tip?

Yes.

It's strange how people always seem to remember past shows as being bigger, better or more. The past shows never contained as much low level 1.4g pyro as the current show. The finale still contains a LOT of small salutes, similar to the ones commonly used at DHS.

And France is included in the narration.

Just got back from Illuminations for the second time this trip (Dec 5 and Dec 7 2014). The ending is so substantially different with half the ending finally you end up wondeeing if it is even over. I reviewed wdwmagic's video and that was nothing like what it is now - theirs appears to be a hybrid of the old pyro plus new as it had low and high arial fireworks. My bet they simply hadnt fully converted to the new show. The last two shows finished with a dozen loud low arial bangers not a sky filled with star birsts. I felt guilty tellng people who started to leave after illuminations to stay for the real show…apparently when Cronkite left he took the fireworks with him. Huge disappointment, huge. We have treked to Disney evey year for the last 10 years and we always come in December just for this tag along. Nothing beats fireworks that litteraly takes your breath away. WDWMagic needs to get back out and see the new display and update the video - huge difference. The old show was worth every penny, new show has me thinking other parks can do better. Bad move Disney…makes my townie 4th of July show look not that bad now.

Yes, they have new lasers....ooohh and ahhhh. I will give you, some of the lower fireworks that kind of waterfalled sparks are cool. But you cannot take away a finally and replace it with 3 new laser splitters and some low grade firework fountains. Thats just cost cutting at its finnest. The new gal (who voices several of the Disney attractions) completely takes you out of the magic of that moment and back to some other ride. Its no longer unique and doesnt take your breath away. Its lost its magic. If your okay trading a shinny new penny for a wrinkled dollar bill then I giess those lasers we re a great upgrade. Not for me.
