The fans during We Go On seem new. DOn't think I've seen that in other vids.
Yeah I'm pretty sure we would have seen that in the last 2 vids Martin has posted. Although the fast moving sky effect in celebration wasn't purple in the most recent video. And green fan lasers before celebration which I think I might like a little better and there's less flickr. I'm already complaining lol.

Just got back from Illuminations for the second time this trip (Dec 5 and Dec 7 2014). The ending is so substantially different with half the ending finally you end up wondeeing if it is even over. I reviewed wdwmagic's video and that was nothing like what it is now - theirs appears to be a hybrid of the old pyro plus new as it had low and high arial fireworks. My bet they simply hadnt fully converted to the new show. The last two shows finished with a dozen loud low arial bangers not a sky filled with star birsts. I felt guilty tellng people who started to leave after illuminations to stay for the real show…apparently when Cronkite left he took the fireworks with him. Huge disappointment, huge. We have treked to Disney evey year for the last 10 years and we always come in December just for this tag along. Nothing beats fireworks that litteraly takes your breath away. WDWMagic needs to get back out and see the new display and update the video - huge difference. The old show was worth every penny, new show has me thinking other parks can do better. Bad move Disney…makes my townie 4th of July show look not that bad now.
The show on Dec 7 was restricted; high winds cancelled from pyro, from what I hear. You didn't see the full show.

Yup, and now the "wipe" across the sky is green, too.

VERY curious. Guess they're still tinkering :)

I think they had some problems last night. While waiting in line for candlelight at around 7pm, about 8 shells lit up the sky. Everyone definitely stopped what they were doing and looked around. Don't think that is the norm. They had an announcement 10 minutes later about fireworks.

This was my 2nd time seeing the holiday tag this season and there was definitely a huge difference. I'm thinking it was related to the earlier issue.

Ooof. What kinds of shells? What did they look like?

Hahaha. I don't even know how to answer that best because I have so little knowledge on types of shells. The best I can explain is that by the time I stood up to see what had happened, a few of them launched and burst. I saw a couple of white bursts and a purple one. Don't know if that helped. lol

It did. Sounds like the last few shells from the finale.

I wonder what happened... hope it wasn't dangerous.

I thought it was pretty cool when the wipe around the sky was purple, I don't like the green. Heck I don't like the green lasers at all, blue is the best.

I like how the lasers hit the fountains, thought that was cool, it's like Reflections of Earth is more part of Epcot then it is the Millenium Celebration now.
I have always thought that IllumiNations 2000: Reflections of Earth is an EPCOT Center show that was just built about 10 years too late. Lucky for us. :)

Disney's finally talking about the new lasers- http://aboutwaltdisneyworldresort.c...features-new-environmentally-friendly-lasers/

They're environmentally friendly. No water cooling system and they use the power of a hair dryer.
