News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

No show, no matter how amazing or spectacular, is worth what these monstrosities have brought to one of the most amazing places on earth.
This is one of my worries. Let's say this show turned out to be really amazing and end up being one of or the best nighttime spectaculars to date, this has already left a bad taste in everyone's mouth that it will definitely affect everyone's opinion about the show.

You don’t have to worry about it.
I can guarantee it won’t be worth it.
The views are completely destroyed by the set pieces. If you enjoyed strolling around the World Showcase and occasionally stopping to take in the unique perspective it offered, kiss that goodbye.

They really are that awful. And only 2/5 of them are in place...
And the fountains are not even turned on yet...

I get letting Disney sort stuff out, and to not be quick to judge, but there is absolutely no way these things “blend in”.

Additionally, the poor show of working on them in front of everyone is outrageous. Walt was so concerned with not breaking the illusion which was crafted he insisted the Magic Kingdom be built above tunnels just so stuff like janitors and characters in costume would not be seen except when wanted.

These set pieces are not even working properly. They are still being tested and having kinks worked out, but they are doing so in the middle of the day, in full view of the guests.
That is their mindset: the show does not matter.

It’s pathetic.

Does anyone know why it has to play off-center? I’m assuming there’s a calculated reason, because it’s inconceivable that it’s just a ‘whoopsie’ with how much lagoon infrastructure work was done.
The show is centered on the upcharge event center.

These parks are not designed for lowly plebs who paid $600 entrance fee for their family of four.

Worst part: the careful forced perspective and placement of the pavilions around the lagoon is completely upended. The pavilions looks small and insignificant, the focal point being the giant black ( 'taco shells' ) gracing us with their presence.

This.

Facts.

As I commented in a prior post - the fundamental design element of World Showcase has been spoiled.

Actually, soiled upon.

NOT pleased.

Curious if they plan on updating the sound system around World Showcase? Just in my opinion the current sound system isn’t the greatest. In particular the old FP viewing area.

It definitely needs some work. It was very good in its prime. The RoE score was even finally mixed in World Showcase itself to be optimized for the install. Over the years a lot of it degraded, and had been patched over the years. But it needs a rework for sure.

Yeah especially for all they hope for with Harmonious you would think they would want to focus on the sound system, making sure everyone hears the Disney songs play loud and clear lol. But no seriously for the amount of money they spent on those, unfortunately hideous, barges, I hope somewhere in the budget they included a new sound system.

I would expect it to be done. Good news is they have all of the locations in place, so it is really a case of replacing speakers and perhaps amplifiers. Should be a relative drop in the ocean.

The RoE audio system was totally overhauled at least once during the shows run and had numerous tweaks, but was still fundamentally based on mid 90s technology when it closed. Show audio has come a long way in 25 years. Steve; I forget what accolade the original system had when it premiered. Do you recall?

Your memory is amazing Martin! You are right, I recall it being noteworthy for something along the lines of the world's largest distributed networked outdoor audio system. I've got the specifics somewhere, I'll have a look.

I think I know what the new speakers in front of SSE are for. Not a show per se, even comparing it to Tree of Life Awakenings is generous, but the final-final entrance should have some... "events" happening.
Projections onto SSE or LEDs behind/between the panels? I thought I read something on here a while ago about small scale LED testing on SSE but I don't remember who said it.

Not for quite some time I’m guessing? At the very least until World Celebration is completed?

( Wow...now you KNOW things are going seriously wrong at Epcot )

Yet another reason to dislike those **^%*#!!** 'grossly oversized 'burnt taco shells'.
