I still don’t get it. Why if they knew theee would be out 24/7 (as I’m beginning to think they did based on the moorings) why didn’t they actually build something semi permanent that looked intentional. Look at the effort that went into building islands mounded with plastic plants to disguise much less intrusive equipment for rivers of light that already dead! They didn’t have to look “natural” at this park, but they didn’t need to look like power plants adrift on the pond.

Because those who care about such things no longer work for Disney or WDI. Show is apparently no longer a consideration for anything, only how many technical effects they can cram in and how many “wow”‘s and social media posts they can garner.

Not holding my breath on this but someone on Twitter commented saying the floats are not fully finished yet and they will receive some things to help with their appearance. This could be true, could not be as well. We do know the barges are indeed still being worked on, I believe it was marni who had said the reason why they moved the the two barges out was for lack of space backstage and testing.
Think we can all agree nothing they do will fix the view they ruined by these things. But at least maybe they can make them not look like oil refineries lol.

They can put all the pretty wrapping and bows on the giant tacos they want, but they are still giant tacos. They will be eyesores until they are removed.

I think that tweet comment you are referring to is a Disney apologist simply theorizing to justify the failure that this is. I’m not saying that looking at the mind boggling amount of show equipment crammed on these things, that this sing a long with fountains won’t LOOK amazing, it’s just that 1) there’s no reason that this mind boggling amount of show equipment is out in full view in a totally undisguised way and 2) we’ve seen that all the equipment in the world (rivers of light) doesn’t matter if you throw it all out there in the first 5 mins and forget how to build a good story.

very curious to see how this show ultimately shapes up. it's tough to judge these types of shows because so many are just jaded and have an "impress me" attitude. is a modern audience capable of appreciating something like this?

It’s clearer than ever now that Disney is aiming at the average guests, especially with Harmonious and the decision they made to permanently keep these barges in the middle of WS. The truth is the average guest will not care about the views, they will love the addition of a big fountain during the day which will be a big photo moment for many, and they will Love the IP in Harmonious and the wow factors.

Right??? I wonder how the Disney company could just build a rollercoaster with it's track just exposed like that. That was the day they lost all credibility. I can not fathom what they were thinking. How dare they?!?! Literally everything since the day it opened has no meaning at all since Disney built Gadget's Go Coaster in 1993. Everything after that is clearly horrible. Tower of Terror, dead! Indiana Jones Adventure, awful! Literally the entirety of Animal Kingdom, I claw my eyes out!

All because I can see exposed roller coaster track!!!!!!!
