The PR statement says it all. It was not worth the fight to them.

You guys that said you are done supporting Disney though are lucky to have great theme parks in the same state to go visit. Universal will even have Epic Universe for you soon.

If you are close to certain sides or reside within Texas, well good news for your near future there too.

My discretionary budget doesn't need a windfall. I'm exactly the type of customer Disney is trying to court, and at the moment (and possibly forever) I want nothing to do with them. I don't reward cowards who capitulate to a dictator wanna-be.
Great news for you!!! You can still visit Orlando. Universal has some great deals!!

Disney will now just be forced to open their Chicagoland theme park a couple decades early and just wait for global warming to catch up. Universal can have Texas and its 100 days of 100 degree summers.

With that 700 million capex domestic theme park budget cut and no one to market it right?

It would not have any recent library to base it off by then anyway. Iger will have sequealed and remade everything of his own by then.

I imagine at a Chicago park the itneractive shooting rides has return fire.

I've no interest in other parks. Disney will continue to make money off me, because I too am unprincipled and weak, but the company has plummeted in my estimation.

It was not posted about you, but about those who said they would cease.

Also too bad if you have never given others a shot. But I get it. You like what you like.

Nah. Splash is a goner

So is RCID and any interest Disney has in protecting it or righting a wrong from its loss. They don't want their name to be on the news every time there is an update about a fight that among the majority of people either don't care enough about or don't care to particularly root for them. Esp since Iger still has in the past talked about political plans. If you want to hold some hope, that is fine.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that Jeff’s statement today definitively indicates that the company will not fight this.
From the decent sources I am hearing this is done. No I did not have a chat with Bob, but a memo will be coming out to CM's tomorrow. I am far from an insider but I am hearing this both from the union side and finance.

What makes you say that? I'm not challenging you, but looing for a glimmer of hope!
Im not saying they will fight it. I’m just saying there are reasons to release a statement like that even if you are planning legal action. And he didn’t specifically say they weren’t. WDW must operate under the assumption that the new district is the future and they must reassure investors, cast members, and potential guests that they are prepared for that reality with little to no change to the experience.

Certainly possible. Like it or not. And if communication does come out clarifying their intent then they will end a lot of speculation. Although I’m not sure how or why the union would have any insight here.

I agree with you, I don't think its definitively over. The last place Disney is going to fight this is in public, at least right now.
They very well could be rolling over, but my first reaction when I read the Disney release was "dang there going hard with this". I think they are going the silent but deadly route.
