Ok, I can admit when I am completely and totally wrong. I had the wrong topic that Steve and 74 went back and forth on. It WASN'T about the July 4th hours. It was about the demographic of guests between Disneyland and WDW.

So, 74, my sincerest apologies. :)

Thanks, I appreciate the classy sentiment but no apologies are needed. We all make mistakes, such is the human condition.

I have no issues with anyone questioning my posts or debating my viewpoints, only the incessant personalization that some people here engage in.

First, apologies aren't needed when someone makes a legit mistake ... but it's classy of you, so thanks.

I don't mind people questioning me at all or debating. What I don't like is the endless personalization that some folks here regularly engage in.

Glad you accepted. I know i am guilty of it too, but, I do wish we could just have intelligent conversations without bashing. From this day forward, I will do my best NOT to engage in bashing. Condumdrum, you are safe.. FOR NOW lol.. :)

I've been experiencing WDW as long or longer than you. Pre-Epcot. And I do not see a steady decline. I see the usual cycles of build outs, as confirmed by E. Sotto, that frequently happen.

Do NOT use Eddie as someone that is somehow backing up your opinions and rantings, JT, because it isn't fair and it isn't accurate.

Eddie hasn't worked for the company in a decade (a decade of decline?) and he isn't up to date with everything going on at Disney. He has said he hasn't been to the MK 'in years' for example ... or hasn't set foot in HKDL. Again, while I greatly admire the man's art and vision, to bring him into a discussion on how WDW is run isn't fair to him unless he chooses to state his views.

And, again, with you JT there's no sense on whether you have even set foot in a Disney park by the way some of your statements come off.

You don't think there's been a decline? That's fine. Your opinion.

My opinion is vastly different and I can back it up with examples.

If there is a problem with WDW is that it is too successful and was built up faster than it should have been and when Eisner lost his bearings, that was reflected in the quality at WDW.

And please tell me what Bob Iger was doing at the time ... and what has the 'new sheriff' been doing since 2005?

While I agree that quality suffered in Eisner's last 5-10 years at TWDC, he was the one who raised it in many aspects to begin with.

I
I also, and quite objectively, see the trend lines turning around. I'm not blinded by emotionality and childhood sentimentality. So I think that helps.

You see what you want to see ... reality is a whole 'nother matter.

I'm waiting for WDW74 to admit that he was wrong about the props from the AC being shipped off to Japan too! Wow, once again we agree!

JT, you need to stop fixating on me ... not healthy.

I was told that AC props were headed for BOTH HKDL and TDR. I don't know whether that has happened yet because I haven't set foot in there. Neither have you.

If the intention was to repurpose them, then they may well have held off until they stop booking the club for private events.

But it doesn't really matter in the long term ... you don't like PI and clubs and drinking anyway, so why fret? The new sheriff has plans for them!

I'm not alone here in seeing things turning around. More than a few people won't say so because they don't want to deal with your self admitted "in your face" posting style. That has never been a very common part of this forum until you showed up. Thug tactics don't work on me however.

I love it. You offer a sincere apology in one thread and the guy is slamming you in another thread. Someday you will learn how anti-social those two "clowns" are.

Bitter and bitterer

Ummmm, I'm speechless, just speechless. :brick:

:dazzle::dazzle::dazzle::dazzle:

Nope ... nothing personal there ... you are just a piece of work. If you actually were speechless here I think it would be a far more magical place.

You don't think an "in your face" posting style comes off as personal? Not sure I get that.

You admitted you are an "in your face" person.

You "were told". See I think that may be where the problem is. Disney has admitted they put out bad info to find leaks. Hmmm. I think the AC rumor might have been one of those.

People often see what they want to see. And the above is BS, pure and simple. If people don't want to have their posts questioned then they shouldn't post on a discussion board. Period.

I won't apologize for having a strong writing voice. It has served me well.

That has never been a very common part of this forum until you showed up. Thug tactics don't work on me however.

Right. I'm evil and I showed up here and destroyed the wonderful harmony of fanbois making things up and passing them off as news or the all-encompassing cover of 'rumor' ... and I thought you were going to 'ignore' me? Yet you reference me in threads I am not a party to ... you join in mine here for absolutely no reason at all other than to attack and divert attention away from the issues being discussed ... and you do it all with the apparent approval of the powers here. You are a piece ... of work!

Once again you mischaracterize my position on the AC/PI/CW. I think you care much more about what you post than trying to understand where other people are coming from.

No ... that's what JT wants ... comes in, attacks (while crying he's the victim as he holds the bloody knife) and creates chaos.

While I don't disagree... There's some blame to be taken on both sides.

You DO have an agressive writing style that can be off-putting. You know the old saying... "You can use a mallet or a s l e d g e hammer".

I know you said your writing style has served you well... But this isn't a memo to people that work for you, you know? This is just a discussion forum. We're all peers here, like it or not... And people can get defensive pretty quickly when, in their minds, they're made to feel like they're being "put in their place". And while some people (me) can look past the writing style and agression and get to the meat of what you're saying, some can't. And they react.

Think of it like a point you'd try to make to your wife. Would you come in guns blazing, hard-nosed and blunt with no regard to impression? Probably not. You'd make your exact same point, but in a more even handed way.

The frustrating part is... Most of the time I think you have GREAT points to make. GREAT points. But it ends up getting lost in the shuffle quickly because the posts get off topic, and personal. And that sucks, because we could all be having some pretty darn good Disney park related discussion.

I'm not saying "dumb it down". I'm not saying "Disney-fy" it. I'm not even saying you need to be a kissing cousin with our buddy jt. I know you know what I'm getting at. My views are pretty well lock-step in with yours. And they're important views I think. They're views from people that LOVE Disney and Disney Parks, but are upset and critical about what WDW has degraded to, especially compared to other resorts around the world. And that's an important view... Because very few of us can offer first-person accounts of the bigger world-wide experience.

Jt... Same goes for you. You do the same thing at times. This is by no means just 74's doing, and I SERIOUSLY hope you don't try to spin it to make it seem that way. But I do know that if I were Steve, I'd be pulling my hair out fairly routinely lately, upset at how my website has been the Jerry Springer show lately. Both you kids. Go to your rooms. :animwink:

I read through this and WOW... But I highlighted the part that I think is the problem.. I know I been put off by 74's posts... I know I took him as one of the negative nellies on here... But the more I read his posts, the less I thought of that... Major problem with the internet is you cannot tell what tone a post was meant to have.. Someone may say something sarcastically, and next thing you know World War 10 breaks out...

74, I appreciate your posts and thank you for bringing another side to things, whether we agree or not... Goth, thank you for apologizing and being a man about being wrong...

Now, maybe we can all move on, please??

As for the original topic: I still think TDO is way off base here in only releasing this 2 weeks in advance.. it is either pure laziness, or terrible management... probably a combo of both...

You are right, but most people don't care. It's all about proving that Steve was right!

Disney screwed this up by either not announcing once it was decided or waffling until 2 weeks prior to the holiday. Can we focus on that?

Bravo... Can't we all just get along.. I really have no clue as to why someone takes something personally when written on a message board of any nature.. This internet has gotten out of control.I think the problem with message boards is because they are face less and you cannot tell the tone of the message you are trying to convey.

And to those that have said Disney has waited to long to announce these plans. I am sure they will have no probelm filling the parks for the nights of these events

I am sure there will be no problem guest-wise, but, it is inconceivable how Disney could NOT announce this a month or more in advance.. They force you to book dining 90 days out... People will look at the July schedule three months prior, see parks closing early July 4th weekend, with only MK showing any kind of 4th of July firework show, then book dining accordingly.. Now, 2 week before the holiday, Disney springs this on people... How many guests have to now consider changing ADRs cause this plays havoc with their plans?? Even if it is just a handful, it is still a bad choice...

Oh and before folks start praising TDO for showing the July 4th show on the 3rd as well, I'll point out that in Anaheim they are showing the show from July 2-5.

Disneyland is only presenting the show on multiple nights to offset a repeat of last years cancellation due to winds of higher elevations.
