Funniest thing ever!

This thread is hilarious...do you people realize how silly you sound..:hammer:this is an online forum..it is not like you all are talking to each other face to face in a room...do you even know who wannb is?..you act like he is going to come to your house and beat you up..might as well get a restraining order...
Dana! Please! You're going to hurt my "thuglike" rep. :lookaroun

That's the second time I've seen this point made in this thread, and it seems like a pretty logical, cogent counter-argument. Maybe once we get past all the "hater" vs. "apologist" mud-flinging, somebody could address it?
That 2-sided explanation in his post seems to be the most logical approach to this entire debate.

Maybe they thought for the first time in history no one was going to show up for a 4th of July celebration at WDW. I don't even see how a WDW appologist could buy that one.
 Sadly I could see mangment thinking like that.:lookaroun:ROFLOL:

I have done this in a room, or rather a restaurant, full of people talking and debating like this several times... Now THAT's fun.

If they wanna debate, let them...It's good for reading. If the Pixie Dusters want to gush, let them do that also. S'what's the interwebz for.:snore:;):lol:

Honestly, I don't think it's the issues of the hours, here...It's about Disney releasing them, and when they did/didn't. Just my take.

Debating is fine...that is what a forum is for...

The hilarious thing is the "thuglike" comment and comments of people saying :"Do not mess with him or else"...that is the funny thing..that is what sounds silly..and what makes me laugh...when people seriously worry about someones "thuglike" behavior

I could care less about the debating and the pixie dust gushing.. I gush pixie dust all the time.:)

Oh and sorry Todd...I will try not to ruin your thuggish rep anymore..;)

Let's see... earlier you attempted to list specific hours.

I am not a walking program of WDW's operating hours through the years. I gave you some general examples of past hours from summer seasons.

You may not believe them, but they are facts.

When you were taken to task, you've now watered it down to the following facts.

Taken to task? Yeah. You sure put me in my place ... as to what you list as facts ... they aren't. They are opinions and they aren't even mine. They are your views of what my opinions may be.

So, let's set that record straight ...

1. More guests attend during the summer.

More than what? Summer is traditionally a very busy period since that's when people with children are more likely to take magical WDW vacations.
It's certainly not as busy as the two weeks around Easter or Christmas-New Year's. But it's much more crowded than say the third week of September or the second week in May etc ...

2. They have longer hours during the summer.

Longer than what?

3. EMH is bad

No. I don't believe it is. I believe EMH in PLACE of longer hours for ALL is bad for anyone not paying a premium to stay at a WDW resort.

4. E-ride nights were bad

OK. You got one out of four.

Here, I'll add one for you since you forgot. It's hot in the summer in Florida. :D

It's also rainy ...

A judge has already granted me a restraining order against wannab. He is here by order to stay a minimum of 3 post away from me at anytime.

Sure, why not? I gush when I feel inspired to. Have you seen any of my posts on HoP? When I feel the need to raise my voice and complain, I do that too...Hello, D64!

Now, I'm not trying to be an a s s when I ask....Why do people think you can only be one?:lol:

Look, there are two possibilities here that are far more innocuous than what's been discussed in this thread. Everyone is assuming that because Steve knew about the updated schedule, Disney must have decided on it long ago. He likely knows someone in TDO, and they tipped him off to a schedule change (and, more importantly, a cost increase to Disney) that was making its way up the chain for approval. I expect the decision makers would hold off on the official announcement until they had more confidence in the percentage of cancellations (which are probably at record highs this year also) for that week. Every company needs to control costs right now, so waiting until you know you have the crowd levels to justify the expense makes some amount of sense.

Looking at it the other way, Disney could have announced the new schedule months ago, and then cancelled it if the expected crowds were too low. That's a worse show, IMO.
What you say is very true. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember Steve saying that he was told or something to that effect, that there would be a change in hours, and offerings for the Holiday period.

Steve bases his entire site on accuracy, and integrity. I believe if he wasn't 100% positive about the information he was passing on he would have clarified his statement by saying there was a good chance that changes were possible.

Not to try, and put words in Steve's mouth, but that's what I would have said if I were not positive about what was going to happen.

I don't have the energy to go back, and find what was originally said.

Ok..fair enough...

I was just curious...and I never said you could only just be one or the other...It does seem like the majority of people are one or the other though..as for me..I am more of a pixie dust kind of a girl...but we have been through all that before and know why...:D

I was just asking..and you answered..:)

I'm pretty sure that statement is an absolute... Sith!

Disney fandom isn't black-and-white. Sure, there are extremists at both ends -- rabid Disney tush-kissers and jaded cynics (why are they on a WDW board?), but pretty much everyone else is somewhere in the middle. Some people can't stand particular things, others don't mind. Some want beloved attractions to stay unscathed, others hold true to Walt's belief in change. It's a complicated system, rather than two diametrically opposite groups.
