Agreed. I think most would fall somewhere in the middle. But, I see a major point that is missed by the few that are continually negative. They should simply address it to where it has the potential of being resolved... guest relations. Too many seem to think they can air their issues (valid or not) on a fan board and it will be fixed. That's rarely, if ever true. The only thing it really does is cause those that are here for information to get some jaded view of WDW.
I've posted it before and I'll repeat it now. I pointed someone here once that was planning a vacation. The next time I saw them, they were questioning whether they should even go if things were so bad. As a good "apologist," I let them know they shouldn't worry. They went, had a great time and now they go every year or so. But, they do not come here for information. That single incident changed the way I see this forum.
I would much rather people come here for good information. Steve does a great job of trying to be sure HIS information is accurate. Unfortunately, not everyone does that.
To sum it up, far more harm is done with the continual negative posting. Their hopes of things being the way THEY want it to be just won't materialize because they posted it on a fan board. More likely, they could cause someone to question a trip and I would hope that's the last thing anyone would want. (Actually, I think some do hope to negatively affect business due to some strange logic that's only apparent in their head.)
I've NEVER had a "perfect" trip to WDW. Something will always happen simply due to the fact that people are involved. Mistakes happen or things get missed. If it's something that I find will hurt customer relations, I drop by Guest Relations and let them know. I've never encountered a problem that I consider major, but yet they have always treated the issue as if it was very important and addressed it.
