Interesting....

Hey interesting find BAM. I didn't even think to look into that. I'll send an email to one of my other friends who owns a RCT II website and ask him about it. He has some friends at Infogrames who my be able to get some answers. And hey, awesome find. Your the first person to find new information other than me and I think Dan! :D (NowInc)

[EDIT] Hey, I checked that link. Thats the Movie World in Madrid, Spain. The link you were looking for is the one in Belgium, Germany. Here's the link.

Hey....

I did some checking and found out that Warner Brother's Movie World in Belgium, Germany, is in fact another park in the Six Flags park chain. If you go to www.sixflags.com and search for the parks in germany, you will find that they have all of the Warner Brother's Movie World theme parks on there as well. Good job pointing that out BAM. Everyone keep checking back for all the latest information.

Also, feel free to use this thread to voice your opinions on the new game. I'm beginning to notice that the only two people making posts on this thread is BAM and myself. Keep the thread alive everyone!:sohappy:

Whoops! Oops! What was I thinking?:hammer: :hammer: :hammer:
That was like completely stupid of me. Someone posted a link to that site earlier this week in the news and rumors section and it was called Movie World. When I saw Movie World being possibly considered for the German park I instantly that of that link. Stupidly not realizing it was Madrid.:hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Anyways checked out the new link and I'm also impressed with this park. Can't wait to see what they do for such rides as Stunt Show, Swings, and also theming for RCT 2. Wow it blows my mind. But like I said earlier the one thing I hope they have the most in RCT 2 is to be able to make your own pyrotechnichal show. Now that would be cool!

UPDATE....VIDEO!

Ok, before you get to excited, it is a little blurry, its short, and the narration is in German. That shows you how hard it was to find it. I found it on a dutch site www.rct-world.com. Now, I would have attached the video to this post, but it is slightly to large to put on here. With that in mind, I have put the exact .zip link to open up the download for the video. You will need WinZip to unzip the movie. You will also need the a special video player that I included a link to as well, PowerDVD. It is the only thing I could find that would play this European based video. If anyone can find the right codec to play the movie in Windows Media Player, let me know. Here's the link:

RCT 2 Video
http://www.rct-world.com/rct2/rct2pcgames.zip
Video Player
http://download.com.com/3000-2194-8026910.html?tag=lst-0-2

The video is hefty for slow connections. It is 9.42 MB. You also have to download (as far as I know right now) The 5.52 MB Video Player to play it. However if you want to see a brief demonstration of RCT 2 in action, its worth it. After you install the player and a window pops up asking you if you want to run a system diagnostic now, hit NO. It works regardless without making any uneccessary changes to your settings on you computer. Keep checking back for all the latest updates on Rollercoaster Tycoon 2!

UPDATE....

I have done my best to translate the narration on the video. Pardon the choppy English.

Rollercoaster fan Chris Sawyer hits back.
RCT 2 continues the success series of the one-man-enterprise.
Optically it has changed only little.
The difference is in the detail.
More attractions, more stalls, more adjusting possibilities and naturaly more rollercoasters are waiting for the pleasure-addicted guests.
A simply to use scenarioeditor with this the editing isn't a problem.

And thats pretty much all she says folks. Keep checking back here for all of the latest information on RollerCoaster Tycoon 2

NOTE: I have noticed that there are close to 1000 visits in this thread but very few posts other than my own. Lets keep this thread alive!!! Otherwise, I'll just assume no one reads this and I'll stop making updates. I'm a busy guy. Oh well, good night everyone!

Thats cool

I completely understand. This tends to be one of those threads where there really isn't much to say. If you think about what I put in the last post, it really doesn't make much sense. "I'll assume no one reads this.." but "I've notice there are close to 1000 visits..." Thats really kind of a stupid statement. And a little embarrassing.:eek:It kind of sets me out as whining "I'm not getting posts so I'm gonna stop making updates....whaaaaaaa" Anyway, I'll still keep all of the updates coming as fast as I can find them. Obviously I'm doing something right if this thread has become the most viewed thread in Video Games board and the fact that I exceeded my 1GB bandwidth limit on BOTH screenshots pages at least 3 times this week!:brick:

UPDATE....NEW ARTICLE

Ok everyone, new article!!!

This one comes from Computer Games. As you can see, we find out a little more information here as well about RCT 2, particularily concerning the graphics engine and the new themes. Enjoy!

From Computer Games:

"SIX FLAGS OVER EASY"
Roller Coaster Tycoon 2
Ramps it up

"No ancient Coney Island wood and chains structures here; instead five official Six Flags locations lie at the core of this sequel to one of the most engaging theme park sims to date. RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 designer Chris Sawyer is trying it preserve the best features of the original and to eliminate or polish the glitches. They have completely redone the graphics engine, and each of the coasters in this game has more frames of animation than were in its predecessor's entire product.

Includuded are item sets from new park themes including Pirate, Indutstrial, and a whimisical Giant Furniture and Grass theme allowing you to recreate Honey I Shrunk The Kids. The game will also have 25 coasters in all, nine of which are new, as well as more, more, more glitz.

Of course you can design your own park and coasters, color more items, and create scenarios that have saved games small enough to share with your friends. There are more configurable people and situations, and more animated pieces that can make a world so busy and bizarre as to resemble SSX's mad funhouse, Tokyo Megaplex. You'll also be able to see how your designs rate compared to ones that the pros put together, in order to find why they're making the big bucks and you're not.

You'll be able to create your coasters now outside thof the game so that you can concentrate on them without worrying whether your vendors have run out of popcorn. And when you're not building your own coaster, you can spend time trying to identify from which theme parks the preloaded coasters come, or atleast think up new and exciting ways to make your patrons vomit. Yum."

Hey Everybody. Just got back from Ocean City MD. Had a great time. Gladly overwhelmed to see these great updates when I got back...only one problem, I can't seem to get the movie link to work.

I tried downloading the movie from the link and I tried saving it but it in 1 sec it said it was done. Then I try to find it to unzip it and all I get is transcript. I tried it on my other computer and it did the same thing:veryconfu

I also tried to download the movie player and couldn't find it? You said it was PowerDVD right? Sorry, but I couldn't find it on that list. Is it called something else or something?

Another thing I tried the link to www.rct-world.com and it was bad on my computer.

Anyways thx for all the updates CAC and believe me, your efforts are well appreciated even if they are not said. There are a lot of spectators out there who just like to read. I was one for 6 months when I first discovered this site.
Also any help with my problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

The link to the video itself worked fine for me when I tested it. What kind of connection do you use? As for the other link to powerDVD, cnet.com is down right now while they move to another server. They'll be back up and running soon, and when they are, that link should work fine. If not I'll find the link for you. I am also trying to figure out a way to recompress the video so it is easier to download and will play in Windows Media Player. I'll get working on that as soon as I get my computer back. I had to ship it out and get the hard drive fixed because it was making loud metallic scratching noises...luckily it was still under warranty though as it will be for another three years. To help me out with the video, let me know if you were able to download the video through that link and were actually able to see the video. I'd appreciate it. Ok, gotta run. GoodNight everyone!:D

Hey check out what was posted on Screamscape today

Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 - (6/30/02) A website that has the game up for advance sale lists the following five Six Flags parks included in the game: Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags over Texas, Six Flags Holland and a park described as being in Dusseldorf, Germany. ***The odd thing is that there is no Six Flags park in Germany, though I believe the Warner Bros. MovieWorld park in Germany is close.***

That last tidbit of info is interesting. Have you looked at this park on the web? It is very interesting and highly themed. I'll try to post a link to here in 5 minutes. Check it out. I can only imagine all the details that could go in that park. It even has a replica of the Mann's Chinese Theatre. What do you think cac2889?

Just my thoughts but could it be that the theming is so great because it is one of the few parks thay have built from the ground up in recent years? i know they have purchased existing pakes, ex: six flags N.E, Magic Mtn, in recent yrs but how many have they built? mabey they finally caught on

OK I figured out how to download movie without downloading VideoDVD. I finally got the Movie Downloaded by going to the actual site and downloading it there.:D (So happy).
Then once I downloaded the movie I then went to DivX.com and downloaded DivX Player 2.0 and it rides over top of Windows Media Player. It only takes about 10 min to download. If you need the link here it is. http://www.divx.com/divx/ Then click on DivX Pro 5.0.2 (Free). Hope this helps maybe a little.

By the way I have phoneline connection to internet if you were wondering. Sorry if I don't reply for a while; I'm going away again till Saturday. Oh well hope there's a big update when I get back. (Fingers crossed):)

Update....HOW TO PLAY THE VIDEO

Ok everyone, here's the deal with the video. What a better time than now to completely reinstall Windows Media Player to make sure you have all the possible updates you need. This is how you get this video to play. Make sure you have the ABSOLUTE LATEST EDITION of Windows Media Player, in this case version 7.01. Go here to get it.

Windows Media Player Download Page
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp/

Although I haven't tried it, if you don't want to reinstall Windows Media Player like I did, you might be able to just install the newest codecs by using the drop down menu at the top of the page and click on the Codec Package. (The link above) It is right underneath the words "Download Information." No one needs to recompress the video, because is DOES work great in Windows Media Player; however, in order to get it to work, I would STRONGLY recommend that you start from scratch and completely reinstall Windows Media Player. Hope everyone will be able to see the video now!:D

Let me know!!:D

Also if you haven't downloaded the video yet, here is the link to download it. It is a little over 9MB, but its worth it if you want to see RCT 2 in action!

Hmmm...

Did you try completely reinstalling Windows Media Player turbogames. I did that and the video worked for me. Of course, the DivX player works great too. Thanks BAM for that find.:) I was just putting down another alternative so you guys don't have to install ANOTHER program. But with RCT 2 and a video, who cares WHAT it takes!:D:lol:

As for the demo, if they release one, the second I find out there is one the link will be right here, for everyone to download!;)
