Seriously gang, what is the latest with Disneyland vaccine mandates for CM's??? Disney made a big splash about it in July, with an October deadline, and now... crickets. No one has said a word about it.

Unless someone has some juicy scoop, I think it's pretty obvious that Disney quietly dropped, or at least stalled, it's vaccine mandate for 20,000 Anaheim Cast Members. Things are too quiet on the vaccine front at Disneyland.

IN-N-OUT stepping up to the tyrants 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

And they make a great point- if the government wants this so bad then let’s them send employees to every place of business instead of having private businesses and their employees do their dirty work. Oh- you don’t have the resources? Neither do the restaurants, movie theaters, gyms etc. Nor is it their job.

View attachment 594281

This fight is coming to Los Angeles soon. November 4th to be exact, and it will be fascinating to watch.

There are a couple dozen In-N-Out locations in Los Angeles County, and quite a few in Los Angeles city.

“We fiercely disagree with any government dictate that forces a private company to discriminate against customers who choose to patronize their business," says In-N-Out Chief Legal & Business Officer Arnie Wensinger.

Who blinks first? And if In-N-Out can do this, a small mom n' pop will feel more emboldened to stand up for themselves too. It starts two weeks from tomorrow, November 4th.

Yeah, no. My point all along has been that people with routine medical care are more likely to be vaccinated. That's it.

Okay. And I can agree with that for routine medical care, even when it's free. Like the mobile health clinics that apparently troll the streets of Compton trying to help people, and now give out free Covid shots. That was one of the vaccine options I outlined for zip code 90059.

But Covid was not routine, and everyone knows it regardless of their bank account.

I've never had a free mobile health clinic get anywhere near my neighborbhood, as convenient and handy as that would be. Even during Covid we were on our own. That level of mobile service is not an option in affluent suburbia; we have to make our own doctor's appointments and take our own time off and get our butts down to the place ourselves and then sit for an hour in the lobby reading old issues of People magazine. (Jennifer Anniston is dating again!)

And we pay for all that.

Just facts.

Maybe my Asperger's gives me an overdeveloped sense of fairness. To see ideas be deliberately misconstrued can be frustrating.

If you can't answer me straightforwardly why not just admit it? I love to challenge my beliefs to see I can find a better one.

I have answered you straighforwardly. I have provided endless hard data and real facts, from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the California Department of Public Health, and other official government sources. If you find that data troubling, blame the data.

And yet I engage and hope for a more honest discussion. Lol at myself!

I think you've been honest and I think I've been honest. :)

The facts are that the non-white and working class people are the least vaccinated, that awful suburban Karen's are not the majority (Thank God!), and through this discussion I have come to the conclusion that the currently unvaccinated of all races have made those decisions on purpose for themselves as mature adults.

I do not think the vast majority of the un-vaccinated in late 2021 are too disconnected to know the Covid shot is free, or too inept to know that it's offered at the local WalMart at any time, or too stupid to know that it's helpful to human health in general. For whatever reason, they have chosen to not get vaccinated yet. And so I respect that adult decision they have made.

We're still not talking in the same space. Routine medical care leads to trusting medical care leads to more likely to be vaccinated. Being outside of medical care and most likely afraid of the system leads to less likely to be vaccinated. I don't think they're stupid; I think they're caught in a bad cycle. I think accessible and affordable healthcare is vital and they can't or don't know how to get it. I was lucky I didn't stay caught.

Learning about this made me less angry at the parents who participated in the sickout on Monday. A very few who were interviewed were strident. Most expressed fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Normally I scream at them for being idiots but now I wonder how to get through to them. Wonder if they have routine healthcare.

I did let you off easy earlier. People have nearly died for telling me "if you say so," and that includes the good boyfriend. Why would I lie?? It's a pretty embarrassing admission to make.

I'm old. Everyone I know is old. We did not go to the doctor's office for a Covid shot. We didn't even have the option to go to a hospital. We went to the Disneyland parking lot, or Soka University, or the Anaheim Convention Center, or Orange Coast College, or CVS, or WalMart, or Target, or Ralph's, or WalGreens.

This was not a process that involved our personal physicians, or heck, even a waiting room. :D

And by the way, Fox News historically has the biggest share of viewers in the lucrative 25 to 54 year old age range. That's really about the only viewers advertisers and programming executives care about.

2021 3rd Quarter Prime Time Ratings - Cable News Young Demographic
Fox News = 377,000 viewers age 25 to 54
CNN = 188,000 viewers age 25 to 54
MSNBC = 151,000 viewers age 25 to 54

But I digress. The narrative for much of 2021 has been that it's all those pesky white Fox News viewers who aren't getting vaccinated. The actual facts and data we've seen in this thread prove otherwise. Unless the working class Latino residents of Santa Ana are actually tuning into Fox News more and more? They voted increasingly for Republicans in 2020, so it might be happening, I guess. Although I'd be surprised to see it at such a huge extent.
Have you considered that maybe just maybe the Fox crowd that posters have been talking about aren’t in the LA County area? Maybe not even in Southern California? And maybe not even in California at all?

Remember we have posters here that don’t all live in California. So while that data you’ve been speaking about might be true for just LA County might not be true for the rest of the US, or even outside the US.

So I don’t know who the specific posters are that you keep referring to with regards to the Fox News comments, but they might also be correct in their assessment of their local areas.

I've lived in many states from coast to coast, and there are differences in cultures and population. But when you have a county like Los Angeles that has over 10 Million people (more than quite a few states combined), that's a pretty good representation of America.

10 Million people is big. It's more people than 41 of our 50 states. And since LA County has a sprawling well-funded bureaucracy and County Health Department tracking all vaccinated people down to their skin color and their zip code, it's a perfect example you simply have to use.

9th Largest State Population = North Carolina at 10.7 Million
Los Angeles County = 10.1 Million
10th Largest State Population = Michigan at 9.9 Million

Or maybe it's just a racist slur based on incorrect data? Could that be it? ;)
Sorry but LA County is not a good representation of the racial demographics of rest of the US. Its a good representation of a large diverse county in CA who's makeup is almost 50% Latino, that's it.

Most states are far more white than LA County is. And most states are far less wealthy than LA County is. But 10 Million people? That's huge.

But you're spouting of racial vaccination demographics of LA County and trying to say they represent the rest of the US, that is not correct.

I'm not "spouting" anything, I'm merely cut-and-pasting the vaccination data that the Los Angeles County Department of Health puts out on their Covid dashboard weekly. They really are proud of that stuff and highlight it prominently for us.

Hmm... I don't think the millions of Latino or Black residents of LA County are some sort of unusual form of creature that only exists in LA County.

I would imagine the vaccination statistics on the various races in LA County will be pretty darn close to the rest of the country, plus or minus 5%.

Let me look into that later tonight... :)

I own homes in the Nashville area, Central FL, and Chicago. To my knowledge Central FL doesn't break down the data that hard but Chicago and Nashville do. Feel free to look it up but it is the same in almost any urban area. Check Chicago, Philadelphia, or New Orleans. I was also a LEO in the projects of Chicago for 20 years. This is not a LA County thing.

I'm not debating the data of specific areas. I don't know who he specifically is speaking about, I know its not me because I haven't mentioned Fox or its watchers for at least a year or more on this board. My point was that the posters he might be speaking about might not be in California or in those large metro areas you mentioned and might be correct in their statements, that is all.

Just something to think about.

Fun fact. I spent over twenty years as a cop in the Chicago projects. I was only in the projects. I was Chicago Housing Authority Police in many high-rise buildings that are thankfully now gone. I did community policing pretty good and knew many people well. There was a 16 year old girl who I think had a need for a father figure and always brought me her report card everytime she saw me. (Always straight A's she was brilliant and went on to get a full ride scholarship). Once she asked my weekend plans and I told her I was going to Summer Fest, a big music festival in Milwaukee which was ninety miles North. You would think I told her I was going to the moon. I asked her what the farthest she had been from her house and she told me 12 blocks! I called my wife and then talked to her grandma and we took both our cars and we all (including her 3 siblings and grandmother) went to Summer Fest. A good time was had by all. (I may have slid grandma a little cash to give the kids). We all live in our own world. Sometimes tough to put yourself in someone else's.

My father built portions of those
Projects as a contractor. He understood the stupid decision to isolate those residents from the beginning and predicted the failure. He knew they’d come down before

Delta variant around the time of relaxing the rules along with an anti vaccine mentality. It was the perfect storm.

This doesn’t make sense to me. So the vaccine apparently works and obviously millions of people were vaccinated in 2021 compared to Zero in 2020 and yet the anti vaccine mentality is responsible for killing more people in 2021?

Time for the Friday Data Dump of out of context misinformation real world data and hard facts! :D

Orange County (Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm) continues to have no vaccine or county mask mandate. Disneyland Resort has gone silent on the Cast Member vaccine mandate that in July it said would take effect in early October. Hospitalizations and case rates in OC continue their decline from August.

Meanwhile, up in Los Angeles County (Universal Studios, Magic Mountain), the saber rattling continues on strict county mask mandates and upcoming vaccine mandates required to shop, dine, or appear in public. The case rates and hospitalizations continue the same basic trend as Orange County and the rest of SoCal however.
