Priciest Place on Earth

Raise prices - - raise customer service - lower wait times - - staff the parks so all rides can run at full capacity.

It's the cutbacks and the nickel and diming people.
Enough already!!!
The things you just described are happening at practically every business everywhere in the country. I agree that it all sucks, but to act like it is a problem unique to WDW is just silly.

Did you stay at a resort onsite at Cedar Point? Also, how were all the sit down dining options there? We’re you able to get into Shula’s? How was the enormous, sand bottom pool? And which park did you hit first? Obviously, I’m just busting your chops, but my point is that for a lot of people the vacation is much more than just the actual rides.
We always stay at the resort at Cedar Point. I sit down dining options are great. We aren't in the park all day at Cedar Point. We do spend time on the beach and at the resort. It's not all about the rides for us either. My family right now Cedar Point is a better value. A lot of it is that we have platinum passes and get discounts for the hotel.

That actually does sound pretty cool. I’m glad you and your family have got a place you enjoy so much! That’s what it’s all about after all!

Yes it's happening everywhere but if you just look at the theme/amusement park industry it's not happening everywhere. While price increases are happening the difference is the majority are continuing where they left off before Covid.

I hear what you’re saying, but overall the issue is hardly unique to WDW. At least where I’m living anyway.

@Jrb1979 I just received an email offer from Cedar Point for Annual Passes. Although CP isn’t open year round, the prices are $99, $135, $235. If I were closer to it like you, I’d definitely purchase one. Although CP and WDW are 2 distinctly different experiences, there’s certainly value in the CP passes if you live close to it. We enjoyed staying at the Breakers Hotel right there on property.

I don't live close by at all. I'm in Canada about 5 hours away and the most expensive pass includes all their parks.

That is my point - - - - Why compare a local mall to WDW?
At least I thought that was a given.

Out the door(total cost with taxes and other BS) costs were $265 per night in heart of Manhattan, 150' from Times Square, in a well appointed modernized name branded chain high rise hotel.

get real---get real fast if you think WDW is not outpacing the industry as a whole in price increases.
Yup. Picked a random date... most 4 star hotels in NYC are in the $250 range. 5 stars are $350-450. Plaza is $760.

Same date at WDW...
Coronado Springs is $275
Art of Animation is $466 (family suite)
Boardwalk is $973!!! (Club level)

I'll jump in

I went up there 10 days ago and WDW hotel pricing has outpaced NYC/Manhattan increases. NOT EVEN CLOSE.
I’ll jump in too.

I didn’t say that a trip to NYC is as expensive as a trip to WDW. What I DID say, is that prices have increased everywhere, and that includes in New York.

YOU COMPLETELY MISSED MY POINT.

I’ve stayed at Boardwalk but $973 nightly is a stretch along with the seemingly 1/2 mile walk from parking space to hotel room but the hotel will be usually - full house . I do miss ESPN club with their infamous peanut butter jelly jalapeño cheese onion and mayo burger.

Like I posted some don’t blink an eye when prices all around are rising and rising but seem to have a fit when WDW does it.
That's not my issue.......wow
My issue is the stark rise in price AND the stark drop in service and quality of the parks and resorts.
WDW is a premium destination.....increases are yearly.....yet the lack of service, lack of upkeep are constantly dropping. Not too mention all these pay add-ons.

Especially for a 50th anniversary year....
What a complete joke.

C'mon people.....read the full post if you want to comment.
