I don't like the MAD layovers. Cause a part of me doesn't want to get back on the plane. I just want to stay.
That's what I usually do. Spend a day or two there, or move by train to BCN, and continue my travels from there.

Disagree. My family just did a week at Cedar Point for less then half of what a Disney vacation is. A lot less complex as well. Even Universal is much cheaper.for me, I usually spend a little less money on food at Disney vs. New York, Vegas, etc. because I know where the good counter service spots are.
When I visit Vegas or NYC I’m seeing lots of shows that equal a daily ticket to a Disney Park.
So... you can still do pretty good at Disney even with the prices going up compared to other destinations.
Well I certainly agree on the “less complex” wdw has made a mess of that for sure.Disagree. My family just did a week at Cedar Point for less then half of what a Disney vacation is. A lot less complex as well. Even Universal is much cheaper.
I think it is considering they constantly offer buy 2 get 3 free for ticket's.Well I certainly agree on the “less complex” wdw has made a mess of that for sure.
I don’t think universal is “much cheaper” though is it?
I'm not quite sure you know how a message board works. If WDW is too expensive for you, then don’t go. If you do decide to go to WDW, then STFU about the cost.
Isn’t it really just as simple as that? I mean, what am I missing here?
Had the same idea, then I looked up the price and restrictions --SadI’m looking up campgrounds for 3 days. Not long ago a tent site with electric/water was under $50 a night, up to 6 people. Not anymore. Tent loops are turning into RV where they can get $200+ a night. Others no longer offered by day, only weekly rates. Hardly any tent sites with hook ups available and they’re either asking $50 a head, no more than 2 adults (>16y) per site, over $150 per site for 5pm-5pm, etc. Talk about rising prices. One quarter of the old options and triple the cost. One won’t let us bring our own wood, they sell 2 pcs for $6
What can we do. Don’t go? Adjust our plans? It’s not just Disney going up in cost and morphing operations. There’s more competition for consumers because behavior has shifted to putting a higher value on experiences.
Food in Vegas is top notch, better bargain when you know where to go compared to WDW however the one arm bandits and table games is where my money is extracted from me but at times I come out ahead . At least the liquid hydration in Vegas comes to me complimentary when playing ( no standing in line like at WDW ) but I still tip for the service. I tip more when I'm ahead! One gambling aspect at WDW was back in the day at Pleasure Island. The carnival games were there and one can win a prize!for me, I usually spend a little less money on food at Disney vs. New York, Vegas, etc. because I know where the good counter service spots are.

Someone’s not having a magical day.then STFU about the cost.
Based on the numerous whining posts on this board, I agree that there are quite a few people who are not having magical days.Someone’s not having a magical day.
It’s all subjective. Universal has its fan base. I used to go to UO, not anymore. Last time we went we went to Halloween Horror Nights. Not my cup of tea getting chased down by Leatherface with his chainsaw. Definitely not the family friendly WDW crowd who attends UO’s HHN.People can moan about the constant rising prices, that Universal and others are much cheaper but let’s be real, they aren’t better
Spot on, and also keep in mind that literally every other thing in life is costing a ton more these days as well. I crack up at the notion that Disney is the only business raising prices.People can moan about the constant rising prices, that Universal and others are much cheaper but let’s be real, they aren’t better
It's not just the raising of prices that people are mad about. People would accept that. It's all the cuts and upcharges that people are upset about.Spot on, and also keep in mind that literally every other thing in life is costing a ton more these days as well. In your mind the Mouse is the best. For me I just came back from Cedar Point last week. I paid a lot less then a Pixie dust vacation and a lot more fun.People can moan about the constant rising prices, that Universal and others are much cheaper but let’s be real, they aren’t better
HHN is not meant to be family friendly. You should give it another try but going during regular park hours. It’s all subjective. Universal has its fan base. I used to go to UO, not anymore. Halloween Horror Nights from what we’ve seen turned out to be a very aggressive crowd , not our deal but regular park hours I agree is a different vibe. I’ve heard of some even assaulting the HHN characters and getting arrested in the process. It's not just the raising of prices that people are mad about. People would accept that. Did you stay at a resort onsite at Cedar Point? Also, how were all the sit down dining options there? We’re you able to get into Shula’s? How was the enormous, sand bottom pool? And which park did you hit first? Obviously, I’m just busting your chops, but my point is that for a lot of people the vacation is much more than just the actual rides. It's not just the raising of prices that people are mad about. Cedar point has onsite resorts and as for “enormous sand bottom pool” - umm you’re literally on the beach. How much more “enormous” can you get than Lake Eerie lol.Did you stay at a resort onsite at Cedar Point? Also, how were all the sit down dining options there? We’re you able to get into Shula’s? Yeah, I get that. As I said in my post, I was making a larger point that WDW is a lot more than just rides to many people. Lol!Cedar point has onsite resorts and as for “enormous sand bottom pool” - umm you’re literally on the beach. How much more “enormous” can you get than Lake Eerie lol.
