This photo is a bit like photos of the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot. The quality is just poor enough that you can't say either way.

Interesting though - a quick check of YAHOO photos finds none of President Bush on the afternoon of the 30th at his place in Crawford!

While my feelings are with what Lee has said, trying to give the benefit of the doubt, there are times when official travel stay under the radar.

I would imagine that the press could "overlook" a visit to WDW or other private locations as it might appear as though the President is endorsing them or at least giving them free advertizing.

After a long day leading the free world Mr. President, what are you going to do? I'm going to Disneyworld! Don't think anyone but Disney would want that publicized. Come to think of it, when do you ever hear of a major public figure visiting any private recreational spot or restaurant? Even celebrities keep it low key (unless they want it to be known) and Disney complies.

Maybe Bush does have access to alien technology! The same stash from Roswell!

Great story--this will be a fun one to tell your daughter over and over again when she's older. All politics aside, I am impressed with a president who is willing to stop and take an impromptu pic like that, especially when he's on vacation.

I think they said that Mrs Bush was the one who agreed. Being married, I know that if it was my wife and I that were in their place and my wife said "Sure, we'll pose with your daughter," that I wouldn't be stupid enough to argue with her. ;)

What a wonderful story! I'm so excited for you and your family. What a nice memory of meeting the President of the United States to end 2004!

Thats a great story. But I tooo was not sure to believe if it happened. Maybe it was an impersonator. But none the less. It was fun for you.

Believe me, I wish I had better than the camera phone to prove it. I have a professional photographer working on cleaning it up now. There is no question that it was him, although I can see where the image quality shows otherwise. I kept looking at the image on the phone screen that night and wished I had gotten a better shot. But it was such a random situation. The whole sequence of events took no more than 30 seconds. I am pretty sure they had just stepped out of the car right there in front of Planet Hollywood. We just happend to be at the right spot before a crowd gathered. Believe me, as they walked away past the AMC and in the direction of Bongos, a large crowd did begin to develop and follow. I will post another copy of the picture if it can be cleaned up at all.

As far as the "thumbs up", he was actually just holding his jacket lapel, but the natural position of the hand when doing so looks like a thumbs up.

I have tried looking through the internet to find some information regarding his visit to Orlando, to add to the scrapbook we are making from the trip for my daughter, but I have not found any either.

For anyone interested, the file data on the photo is: Taken with a Samsung VGA 1000 Sprint Phone at 8:08 PM 12/30/04; Resolution=320*240 (medium setting on the camera phone, it all happened so fast, I didn't thnk to switch to high res. which is 640-480); quality setting = normal; file size = 14502 bytes.

There is no doubt to me that it absolutely was President Bush and his family.

God Bless your son and all our men and women in the Military for leaving their homes, familes and friends to defend our way of life. There are no words beyond that to describe the depth of my gratitude!! Belle

Well said as usual Belle. I wish I could afford to send all our troops to Disney World when they return. To bad we couldn't ask president Bush to do that when he was at DD. :D

That would have been way cool!!! Too bad we werent able to!!!!
Just sending love to our brave men and women who had no choice but to go and fight when they were ordered to do so. They left homes, families, jobs etc to do so. Without looking at the politics of the situation and if we agree with them or not, I do support our troops and hope they come home safely very soon!!! Belle

Though I agree with tigger248's comment in SOME respects, it is nevertheless the wrong forum for such a posting. We have strict guidelines preventing political posts because EVERYONE knows it only descends into chaos and name calling. Besides, respect should be earned and not freely given. No matter who you are.

Thank you!!! Seriously, George W. is the president for the next four years so get over it!!! He beat Kerry and that's all there is to it!! So please kill the political aspect of the forum!!!

Thank you,
PS: If you want to see a VERY FUNNY animation about Bush and Kerry go to www.jibjab.com and view the view "Our Land"

i just have a little comment...to all those "not saying anything naughty" or "keeping my own political views out of it even though..." and to those who have quoted thumper...

Why dont you just not say anything at all?? Comment on the picture, which was the point of this thread and be done with it. You are still putting your political views in the thread by using these statements, and they dont belong here. Eeyore has provided us with links to political fourms where your comments would be more than welcome.

thanks
end of rant.

Thats a really cool picture!! Thanks for posting it! It must have been so exciting for you and your family! Did you have a conversation, or was it just a quick snapshot?

I am politically opposed to Bush and his administration, but that's awesome that you got to meet him and his family.

Had I been there, I also would have been friendly. Politics is politics but how often do you get to meet a president?? :D

Way cool.

Planet Hollywood ain't that great though.

For roughly the same price you can eat at California Grill and have a stunning meal. Not to mention all the T&A flashing on the video screens. :brick: I was very disappointed when I ate at PH.

I don't care for PH myself much either...although I do love that Capt'n Crunch Chicken. What I meant was some people in the pubic eye don't wanna be around regular people...ya know? I think it's very cool that he ate at such a normal place.
Stitch...your post count is 333. Make a wish. LOL
