Possible Frontierland expansion

I get that you love Armchair Imagineering, but you shouldnt make the rest of us suffer as a result....
Pointing out faults in an attraction constitutes Armchair Imagineering?

I'm pretty sure someone actually thinking the Speedway is a decent, well-themed attraction because of rose-tinted glasses since they loved it as a little kid creates far more suffering than whatever I post..

I think the point that @PhotoDave219 is trying to make is that your preference vis-a-vis the Speedway is irrelevant to this News & Rumors thread on Possible Frontierland Expansion."
Really, it's more that no substance has been added to this thread since the first 3-4 pages.

Then, someone started talking about Splash, which ended up leading to the Speedway/Tomorrowland.

Speculation is different from Armchair Imagineering, though. If I posted 10-12 paragraphs about a Speedway revamp, in complete detail, that would be Armchair Imagineering.

I am off-topic, so I apologize, but pointing out the flaws in an attraction isn't really Imagineering.

Oh well...

The discussion of Splash stemmed from a suggestion that they retheme the ride go make it more "western." Appropriate speculation for a thread like this. I'm sure there's a Tomorrowland revamp thread somewhere for you to hate on the Speedway all you want.

The reason some expect such is because there's precedent. Carousel of Progress was moved from Disneyland to Magic Kingdom. Dumbo was moved from the center of Fantasyland to Storybook Circus.
Those cases are a far cry from moving Splash or "it's a small world." MILF could move if they really wanted it to, although I don't think they do.

Dumbo comes apart. Splash does not.

That statement wasn't saying my own true opinion, more stating why fanbois think that a ride can be magically moved at the wave of a wand. I don't think there's precedent for moving a water ride at any park, ever, but that doesn't stop the armchair brigade.

MILF is essentially a show. That could be adapted to other locations.... But like you said, unlikely they'd do that.

Actually moving an attraction from one park to another (like COP or IASW) is a delusion worthy of a 36 hour coke bender. (So they tell me)

As an aside, I always find it funny when people lament Splash's placement in Frontierland in MK but praise it's location in DL. Because "Critter Country" is such a pinnacle of themed experience -- English stuffed animals, Southern anthropomorphic animals and canoes associated with Davy Crockett (?) are such a unified theme.
Few would indeed consider Critter Country the pinnacle of imagineering. ;)
Splash was initially paired with the Bears. It transformed the erstwhile Bear Country into some sort of unified talking critter land, which had a splendid transition from New Orleans to DL's Southern countryside Mansion to Splash.

Pooh in CL is fine too, toonlands don't need to adhere to human geography. The way Snow White, Toad, Dumbo and Pan in the same land is perfectly fine too. (Likewise for Adventureland and Tomorrowland, which mix respectively transcend real world geography)

The castle parks are not about exact representation, or historical re-enactment, they are fantastical lands. But they do have to adhere to their own internal rules.

Maybe if it is a thread about the Speedway, but this is a thread about a possible Frontierland attraction. You can see by my quote below I don't care much for the Speedway. The thing is, I made one comment about it and you continue to discuss in the Frontierland thread.

I love TSI and don't care for the speedway. I realize the speedway is not for me. For the younger set it is pretty awesome. Kids dig it. I think they could at least go to electric cars to cut down on some of the fumes for cast members.
I think if we had a better track at WDW people wouldn't complain so much. When you look at the other speedway track configurations, they are all more interesting than Orlando's. I wouldn't think of removing DL's Autopia.

Maybe we all need to focus back on this thread and/or start another about a Tomorrowland expansion.

That's one of those obvious things where Disney never joins the dots and thinks creatively. If they had a meet and greet outside the show venue, it would attract people who don't even know the Country Bears exist, make every show capacity, and absorb some of the excess crowds nicely.

Put the meet and greet in the pre-show, but when the Bears come back on-duty they could just have them come out from the Utilidors where ye old Christmas shop is and walk back to the CBJ. That way you'd get park presence and draw a crowd into the attraction.

Alas, there isn't a Tomorrowland expansion happening. Rather, not one being discussed by those over the age of 20.

We have very good indications that a Frontierland expansion will really happen.
