Possible Frontierland expansion

Its not going to be 'the busiest park in the world' once Shanghai has a full year of attendance.

MK capacity went WAY up when they opened FLE. Of course they are going to capitalize on that capacity. If this was Anaheim, they would have done so already - but since MK operates at Florida speed, takes longer for them to do so.
I dont think Shangai will affect MK's popularity by that much.

I just wish Disney would do both. No matter what, MK is going to be the busiest park (until the first two months that the Star Wars Experience is open- DHS is going to be at its own full capacity, whatever that is). When people travel to Orlando and only have one park to go to, they're going to pick the Magic Kingdom.

What I wish Disney would do is expand AK, DHS, and Epcot, as well as add some attractions to the Magic Kingdom to offset some of the crazier wait times. While I haven't been on the SDMT, from what I've been told, there is no reason for it to have the crazy wait times that it gets. Peter Pan is the same (the lines are always so ridiculous that I haven't been on it since the 90s, no joke). By adding new attractions (at the same time as adding new attractions to the other parks), capacity grows. Maybe there wouldn't be a 2 hour wait for SDMT, Splash, Pirates, or BTMR.
The issue with this train of thought with the way things are run is that for every new area or attraction added, increased park capacity (aka:$) is added as well so you never really get ahead of the game. In other words... hey there are more rides for the guests, lets let more guests in

But isn't Splash Mountain sort of filling that need? and as far as a big thrill ride, Big Thunder is a pretty mild ride... Are you saying more that Frontierland needs an Omnimover attraction? or a boat ride with less thrills than Splash?

Personally I think it needs an Omnimover ride or a ride with no height restriction on this side of the park.

Then put another E ticket as people on this site call them in adventure land.

Ha. Frontierland expansion. As much as I'd love to see it happen in the next 5 years, I don't think it will. The discussion is interesting though.

I also think that they really need to fix the crowd issues before opening another big ride. The hub expansion is a good start. Maybe improve the Main Street bypass and open it more often, and maybe even add shops or rear entrances to the existing shops. And improve the bag check process at the front of the park. And improve some other things.

Then market the ride and all of those improvements as part of the 50th celebration!!

I dont think Shangai will affect MK's popularity by that much.

I believe he means that Shanghai will draw more visitors, not that it will affect MK's popularity. Either way @Kamikaze , SDL isn't on pace or projected to attract more visitors than the Magic Kingdom. Hopefully it'll get between 10 to 12 million guests by next mid-June.

oh got it, I tough he meant that Shangai would "suck" visitors from the MK. Not that it would become the most visited park in raw numbers.

Just at MK this past week. We went out to Tom Sawyers land and took a spin on the Liberty Bell around River of America. While it was nice and peaceful, how many acres of land is in that that area? I'm surprised that Disney hasn't drained that area and expand that area with a couple of quality rides. Are they on the chopping block?

If they parked the riverboat it would be easy to bring back options from the past such as keel boats and canoes. Possibly a bridge to the island etc. And it definitely opens up previously unused land.

You know what's funny?
It makes sense, but MK SHOULD at the very least get updates to the current attractions like Space, Pan, Thunder, and IASW. Not to mention a Paris like arcade would be great for Main Street.

DHS has to take priority. It seems that with major construction ongoing in 2 of the 4 parks...as well as work being done throughout other parts of the resort..they are spread a bit thin right now...just my opinion.

Agreed. At this point, I'd be fine with just upgrading the existing attractions (and focusing on entertainment like parades) and looking at the 50th for any new builds. All three of the other parks have much more need for attractions than MK and should all be getting multiple things (beyond the stuff we already know about).

Of course, they should not have let the parks stagnant for the last 10-15 years.

Rather than getting rid of the river or the train, I agree that some scenes should be added. They don't have to be super flashy, but they should be there.

You're probably right about not getting anything new until the 50th (but come on, Disney, we need a new night time parade before then).
