Possible Frontierland expansion

Every time I go, it's open. Most times of year are peak season at MK now. I routinely see Diamond Horseshow, Tortuga Tavern, and Tomorrowland Terrace open for lunch. Even in January, the former two were open (can't remember seeing TT open then, but it was certainly open in May).

Do they have a decent menu, or is it stuff you can get at the other "seasonal" places?

I enjoy Tortuga quite a bit. Pretty good Mexican right now (at the level of probably On the Border; my wife and I both enjoyed our burritos there in May; the taco salad, which was first moved from Pecos Bill to Tortuga, is unfortunately now gone altogether. Boo!). The other two...meh. I definitely wasn't impressed. But I'm not impressed by Pecos Bill or Cosmic Ray's, either. Counter service at the MK can be a bit repetitious.

Most QS spots usually have at least one unique or "signature" dish. I was just hoping DH had that.

Decide for yourself. From allears:

Turkey Sandwich - sliced turkey and swiss cheese served on multigrain bread with apples or potato chips $9.49
Barbecued Chicken Sandwich - Pulled chicken served on a kaiser roll with apples or potato chips $9.49
Chef Salad - mixed greens with turkey, ham and swiss $7.49

And that's it.

That's it? THREE menu items?!? The Diamond Horseshoe deserves more! At best, it's barely the Cubic Zirconium Horseshoe right now!

That I don't know.
What incentive does Disney have to begin a major expansion in the Magic Kingdom before Pandora and/or phase one of the reimagined DHS open?

It seems to me that Disney would want to get on a rotating schedule, using new attractions (or lands) to pull crowds away from the parks with closures due to construction. With the $350 million already earmarked for each of the MK and Epcot, it sounds like Disney is considering debuting expansions in multiple parks in the same year. Is that too good to be true? Either that or this Fontierland expansion is for the 50th.

Tortuga is one of my favorite as far as quick service are concerned. It was open last fall in what I thought woulda been a off season when I was there. Only thing is I wish it was open at night too.

Well, things at Disney take time. As for new attractions, Frozen Ever After (EPCOT) should be a lock for early/mid 2016 which should give EPCOT some slight pull. River of Lights (DAK) should open about the same time or soon after. After that you have Pandora (DAK) in early 2017 with expanded capacity for both Soarin (EPCOT) and Midway Mania (DHS) happening sometime before that. There was talk of a Toy Story Playland coming to the Studios. One would assume that could go up pretty quickly, but with no (visible) construction started it really tough to say when it could/would open, but let's say they plan to open that in late 2017 (enough time to let Pandora have the spotlight for the bulk of the summer). The 50th anniversary is in 2021 so that still gives you PLENTY of opportunities to open other new attractions because any single new attraction (like what will go to Magic Kingdom or EPCOT) will probably take 1.5-2 years to build (from ground breaking to opening day) and any overhaul at the Studios could take much longer (the California Adventure upgrades took 5 years).

Think of this more as a five year plan and less of a "let's spend lots of money at each of the parks all at the same time".

In short? A lot of management are starting to wake up.

Don't expect to see any changes in the next 12-18 months though if at all.
I think they will begin just won't announce what they are doing to the general public until after Avatar. Maybe some of the minor stuff.

One benefit of the pixie dust is it makes people ignore the construction walls. It's like they can't see them, so no reason to question what is going on behind them.

Tell that to the harbor house. Hands down best quick service in the park.

Now, if we are really talking Blue Sky, I would greatly appreciate the introduction of Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes.

As mentioned, it previously existed and was shut down. Not really a good fit for Orlando -- way too hot for most of the year (who wants to paddle while baking in the sun?) and frequent rain shuts it down. Maybe it could be brought back seasonally like around Christmas just for capacity, but don't really see the point.
