Possible Frontierland expansion

It sounds like Disney kind of wants to abandon the Tron IP again, given that the third movie has been canceled (and the TV series apparently). Shanghai is likely only getting the ride because plans and construction have been underway for a very long time now, likely when they still had some amount of confidence in the IP.

It could be any one of an infinite number of ideas Imagineers could come up with.

Some of Walt Disney World's best attractions are IP-based, so it's not necessarily a bad thing. It's also not necessarily true that it has to be IP-based. Disney has built/is building a couple frontier-themed E-Tickets over in Asia that are original material.

No, it isn't. It's proof that Disney does build non-IP material with a "rocky, craggy" look that would fit in Frontierland. I am in no way suggesting that is what will happen here, though. I know we are not getting Roaring Rapids.
The Asian Parks are not majority owned by Disney. Original concepts are being pushed by the majority owners, against Disney's desires.

Personally? Not at this time. Though the CoP could get some more love.

TRON Coaster was revisited a year or two back but looks like nothing came of it.
I wish they'd stick a Tron clone in the Tomorrowland expansion pad...alleviate some of the stress off the aging Space Mountain. They'd actually be able to close it for a solid year or so for a proper refurb then and it wouldn't kill capacity!

When I first came across this discussion, my initial fear was a Pixarification of Frontierland and the introduction of Woodyland.

I would be thrilled with seasonal overlays for the Country Bear Jamboree, a dedicated Diamond Horseshoe Revue stage show with regular operating hours, and the "marry my daughter" and bank robbery street performances as seen in Disneyland.

Now, if we are really talking Blue Sky, I would greatly appreciate the introduction of Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes.

Wouldn't it be a reintroduction?

And yes, hoping for no Pixar in frontierland personally. Plenty of room at the studios.

At the very least, it should go back to being a full time restaurant, and not a seasonal one.
Every time I go, it's open. Most times of year are peak season at MK now. I routinely see Diamond Horseshow, Tortuga Tavern, and Tomorrowland Terrace open for lunch. Even in January, the former two were open (can't remember seeing TT open then, but it was certainly open in May).
