With the exception of the pool at the Yacht & Beach Club, Disney used to allow resort guests to "hop" from pool to pool. For example, if you stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, you could visit the pool at the Boardwalk Inn.

Is this still allowed?

Thanks!

Only if you're a DVC member.
You can also use any of the 3 All Star pools if you're staying in one of the All Star resorts, or either of the Port Orleans pools if you're in one of those resorts.

No, it is not allowed anymore. I remember trying different pools when we stayed at Caribbean beach back in the early 90's, but that is no longer the policy, and a source for considerable heated debates on these forums.

No - you can not. Just a heads up - this is a hot topic. Please search before posting a question like this. Just an FYI. :)

When I heard "heated debate" I almost fell out of my chair laughing. A bunch of grown-ups taking the time out of their day to express their feelings about why one should not be using another resort swimming pool. Some of you take this stuff WAY too seriously. But keep it coming, I need a good laugh now and then.

Oh just wait and see. Usually it is a comment something like "you take this stuff WAY too seriously" to set off the debate to the ugly side. Hopefully, a moderator will come along and say something like....question asked and answered, now move along, there is nothing more to see here.

hmmm . . . well, what to do with the family of four with dinner reservations at 'Ohana only the kids don't want to eat? Mom and Dad are dropping $$ in the restaurant and the kids are enjoying the pool and nobody's bothered except a few adults behind their keyboards reading this reply.

The official, short answer is technically no. But the eye roll, under your breath answer: sure go ahead, get nuts!

As long as you're a Disney Resort guest I have no problem with it. Especially to visit a resort within the same pricing level (value, mod, deluxe). We've done it.

I'm not a mod, but as a Star Wars fan, I can't resist the urge to do an Obi-Wan quote...

"There's nothing to see here. Move along."

Honestly, we don't use the pools enough to really care one way or the other. I just think it's incredibly rude and tacky to pool hop. If you want to use a specific pool, stay at that resort.

I'm not really too worried about pool hoppers. I think I feel like another poster here who points out what a waste of time it is, though. No matter how pretty a pool might be, ultimately, it's just a big hole in the ground with water in it, regardless of what other structures may be there to make it look pretty. There are better ways to spend your time while on vacation than to have to take the time to travel to another hotel just to swim in a pool. If you want to do it, I'm not gonna get my panties in a wad over it, but I think you're wasting alot of time that could be better spent doing something else.

Oh, and for the record, I don't really wear panties. That was just an expression. :D

Yeah go nuts you can pack your 1997 refillable mug and refill that as you jump from pool to pool from resort to resort, and hey if your not staying at a Disney resort thats okay too, after your done swimming maybe cut a few lines and use expired fastpasses! :brick::hammer::dazzle::lookaroun

In being serious no its not allowed unless mentioned at the All Star Resorts to use thos pools only if you stay at those resorts or the PO resorts if you stay at FQ or Riverside.

It seems like a whole lot of bother just to get wet, especially when you have your own pool closer to your room, a hot shower, and dry clothes. And better shelter if a storm blows in.

But officially, NO, it isn't allowed.
