My sister and I stayed at Port Orleans and decided to go back to my favorite hotel swimming, The wilderness Lodge. Well, before the worker there told me that I looked like someone familiar, HE KICKED US OUT! He said that we can not go swimming there. He even asked to see our keys, which we gladly showed him thinking he wouldnt know the difference... But he did and we had to leave

I 'm not sure why some of you don't understand the concept of guests only in the pools.:veryconfu

Maybe I can help...

Some hotels have restaurants.
They get money two ways...from the Hotel Guests..and from the restaurant guests.

The pools are only for Hotel guests.

Example: I can drive to any Holiday Inn in the country that has a restaurant and have a sit down meal...then leave. They like that because they make money off the Restaurant.

They don't make money off the pool...it's just a perk for the guests who stay ay the Hotel and a way to attract customers to stay at their hotel.

If swimming at any hotels pool was allowed by everyone who ate at the restaurant, people would be stopping at the restaurant and just order a drink or something else cheap on the menu just so they could use the pool. Then the pool would be clogged with every sweaty fat couple in town along with their 5 kids...

When you stay a hotel...ANY hotel that has a pool. You should swim in THAT pool. That's the rules of the game my friends.:animwink:

True, though DIsney should be the exeption since its the whole resort, as in I think of Disney world as 1, not 100 hotels and everything seperate... You can eat at another restuarant in disney, so why not use the pool.. you are taking seats up at the restaurant the the 'hotel guests' can have.. so thats my theory

Because some of us have not been graced with the smart, blade like perception, that you are keen to impart.
Or because in other parts of the world, yes there are places that exist outside the US, the pool is used by people using hotel facilities.
But someone with youre experience already new that.

You choose to mention rules, well in the big bad world not everyone plays by the games rules, as has been widely commented on in this thread.

Scooter, Just dont try, its a waste of energy typing it.

A pool is a pool.
SO WHAT if your pool has less theaming than anothers. The one job that a pool does is to cool you off, what is the difference if it has sand or not?? or extra concrete figures or such????

You dont just go swimming in your neighbor's pool just because its there do you?

Same difference

haha!! what pools are free to swim in? you have to pay to swim at the YMCA,community pool, stay a a hotel,or like my dad's community they pay a fee for living in the neighborhood. I just don;t see how hard it is to understand something so simple.

I know that it's 'illegal' to swim in another hotels pool.. but paying $200 minimum a night to stay in the whole of DISNEY, you should be able to pool hop.. And i'm sure lots of people do and don't get caught. I wouldnt mind people from other hotels swimming in my hotel's pool.. whats the difference.. yes i know ITS THE RULES

True, but it's as a whole that I'm thinking of. Disney WORLD.. whole.. yeah i can see if you went over to Universal and went in their pool.. thats pretty stupid..

It may all be moot someday, anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if security was tightened at each resort entrance for people entering. If your name's not on a list, or you don't have a legitimate ID or pass that you belong at that resort, you won't go inside. Period.

I base this on some hints I was given in the Magic Kingdom security office. Of course, it all depends on how much they want to compromise PR for increased security, and how much $$$ they want to put into the security budget.

As far as the debate of "pool hopping" being right or wrong, IMHO, it all boils down to integrity.

so if i decide to browse the hotels for maybe futute reservations at that particular hotel and want to sit at the pool for 15 mintues, thats wrong? I'm not the kind of person that would take advantage of the pools, but i would like to sit by them to soak in the view.. you can go to any hotel you want to and walk around and eat there anyway... bah.. i just want to go to disney world! This is the first year Im not going in like 10 years :( pay no attention to my blabbing..
