Your point is probably a major reason why they haven't stepped up security at the resorts: too much Public Relations would be compromised. They would have to decide what guidelines would present the least amount of inconvenience to people with legitimate business. Don't misunderstand what I'm saying. The increased security would not be created for "pool hopping" or similar activities, but a need to keep people out who might be a legitimate threat. I don't think they want to stop people from coming in and going to gift shops at certain resorts, or just wanting to see what the decor is at certain resorts. Disney is still working hard to draw people back to the parks.

Of course, it may never happen. Like I said, I just got some hints when I talked to security. And, if there is another terroist action, that will certainly play a part in what Disney does with security.

Well, well..I must say this is quite an interesting debate. Regardless of the opinions stated previously I must say that I truly believe the reasoning behind anyone feeling that because they are staying in a higher priced hotel that anyone staying in a lesser priced resort does not deserve to swim there is ELITISM, pure and simple, be it subconscious or otherwise. I am fortunate enough to be able to afford and stay at the Polynesian when we visit WDW every year. I do not waste any time wondering if any of the people around me are actually (gasp!!!!!!!) staying at another Disney resort but actually have the audacity to be swimming in MY pool! I have never had my resort I.D. checked for any reason. I would consider it extremely offensive if a Polynesian Cast Member ever asked to see my resort I.D. while I was sitting around the pool. If the individual Disney resorts will allow me to buy merchandise in their shops, eat in their restaurants, etc. I don't think it will kill anyone if I jump in the damned pool. For the record, I've never "pool-hopped", but I think some of you folks need to get over the whole thing. I suppose pool hopping to the Carribbean is ok if you are staying at the Grand Floridian but not vice versa. Sounds like a load of snobby BS to me. Justify it any way you wish. Sorry, just had to get that off of my chest..........

Pools ARE fun! ;)

I wish we had one...but it's not very economical up here. Not that I could afford one anyway! Maybe a little wading pool...I could at least get my butt wet!

A pool is a pool. They do the same thing. Why wast your precious Disney time going to other hotel pools when you can use your own pool (they do the same thing and you save a lot of time!)
