I'm at DS right now. As usual (unfortunately) at least on the outside there doesn't seem like much progress (see the wdwmagic pictures). At this rate summer 2017 seems more likely to me.

On a positive note, there is still a lot of activity on the Coca Cola building!

The signs on the walls say Fall 2016 in DS so I think we need to put Summer to rest.

Actually, quite a bit of work has been done, you just can't see it in that picture. I think most people focus on the dirty exterior, but that won't be taken care of until late in the project.

OH my gosh - I see people actually working on it today! maybe the Coca-Cola workers got confused and went to the wrong construction site!?!?

Photo update as of Friday, June 24.

At the back side of Planet Hollywood, overlooking the Springs, the steel support structure for the outdoor deck has been installed on it's concrete bases. The structure does tilt or lean outward from the building.

The construction entrance door was left open....a view looking into the Observatory entrance at the interior staircase.

Snapped this from the 2nd floor of STK today.

This thing is such an eyesore compared to the rest of Town Center. They have finally started painting the metal framing with either primer or a grey paint.

I walked by this today and noticed 2 things. The first is they have started painting the steel a pewter grey color which you can see in flyerjab's photo above. The second thing I noticed is the part of the beams closest to the fiberglass exterior is being drilled with holes along the sides about every 8-10 inches. This leads me to believe that the new exterior is simply going to be an overlay and not a replacement for the current exterior shel of the building. I did take a photo from the coca-cola store rooftop so i'll post it shortly.

As the art work seems to indicate a metal roof overlay, this makes since.
