Plan C for Pleasure Island

Also Adventureland (bit of a stretch) and the Studios are a possibility. Or, really thinking outside the box, a seperate ticket to the Island in Bay Lake where there could be a dinner show and other diversions and attractions. Could be a better fit than Myst or Pirates or some such franchise.

I really don't know if I want to see discovery island as anything else than a zoological park.

Considering that they now have an entire theme park dedicated to the subject I can't see them returning to that configuration. It is a shame though that the island is not used for something. Limitless possibilities.

Disney having a more personalized service and charging dearly for it, they never do that. They could also do something to tie it in with fw, which could also help to do something with rc.

Do you guys remember the Myst Island rumors from a few years back? They could still do something along those lines....as it is now, it's just another PI and RC sitting there rotting.

I rather tdo and wdi take the time to devlop something that will work and last, then to end up with another hw. And myst island looked like another knee project, a la avaland.

Wow! What a blast from da past. I never read those threads (the one above and the Star Tours one too!) ... first, sincere thanks to CBOMB. He was always my favorite minion of darkness and Disney evil, but I had no idea how much he had my back over here before I ever started reading and posting. I think in addition to the first two round of drinks at the Territory Lounge, I'll also pay for an appetizer and bring back some DLP ephemera (doesn't that word sound ... girlie?)

Also, nice to see my now pal Lee sitting on the fence while giving props out to me. I wouldn't have made quite as much fun of him in the laughing place if I had known him ... well, actually I would have made even more! ... Wonder what happened to so many folks referenced or posting there.

We know Merfie flamed :fork: out on every single Disney discussion forum that exists (and likely a few that don't:ROFLOL:) and now spews hate in the Twitverse while wondering why Disney won't credential him ... Corrus turned into Tim G and disappeared before I could ever get into a good online argument with him. But for an alleged 'insider' he sure was wrong a lot. ... Jedimaster ... well, I think I made him cry and stop posting on Disney forums, but I am sure he got the point in the end. And he was a wonderful boy when I met him at EPCOT a few years back. Enigma ... he was always such a mystery cloaked in a conundrum. Wonder where he is these days. And Lee MacDonald is apparently no longer employed by Disney in any way and his terrific Tales fanzine has apparently been put out of business by his pals at Disney with the much inferior D23. He doesn't even post anymore and has basically fallen off the grid.

Funny how we see how long it took to get Star Tours done, which reminds me that I'll get to see the classic ST next month in Paris again!:)

And all those rumors ... from Disney-MGM being rebranded Disney-Pixar Studios to it getting an Indy ride and Cars area ... they were pretty laughable then and they are now.

I guess I could take this opportunity to say 'I told ya so' ...

~But I think we all know who was right!~

sad thing is that a lot of times Merf was right.. he just didn't go about things the right way....

If they were smart, they'd fill Discovery Island with princesses and foamheads, and charge a premium price for parents to take their little girls on a romp through the enchanted forest to meet rare characters. Add stale cookies and watered-down hot cocoa, and it would be similar to a hard-ticket event like MVMCP. :D

(Yet the fanboy in me would love to see an Adventurer's Island for teens through adults!)

Now, THAT is some good old sarcasm there.

This article on SAVE PI is 100% true.. The HW Wharf concept has been cancelled, and it is being re-worked into a new concept.....Same ideas, different theme.. Again, expect more info closer to the shareholder meeting.

you won't have to wait much longer for confirmation, and from Disney, not Steve (no offense)... As far as the FQ thing... God I hope not, and I haven't heard anything of the sort.. but, that doesn't mean it's not possible..

wdw71fan, any further word on an announcement? The stockholder meeting is tomorrow.

Has a park announcement ever occurred at a shareholder meeting? Seems like the wrong forum.

I agree. If a significant announcement were to be made, it would have been made well in advance so they could state the obvious and pat themselves on the back to shareholders. I suppose DCA, new Fantasyland, and the Fantasy will be enough for them to kiss their own butts over...
