Remember when the park wasn’t 47 years old

And for the record the idea that guests never saw work being performed Is a myth.
Hmm. I was a guest. I never saw work in the parks during my park visits (that I can recall) in the 80's or 90's. Started seeing cranes and walls and scrims in the 00's and since.

We don’t always remember everything clearly. And I’m sure your visits were not every day of every year like the Internet now gives us access to. And as I said the park was not 47 years old then. There wasn’t a whole lot of major work that needed done in the 70s and 80s. But just a few minutes on the Internet you can find plenty of pictures of work being done from then all the way through today. Everything from scaffolding, scrims, construction walls, cranes, painting and even putting up the Christmas tree while guests are in the park.

It has been going on for years, but the last round of hurricanes have really made it a problem. I just got a project this morning to do the engineering on a house damaged by Irma 6 months ago. I'll bet the farm it is not the last one I see.

I had my roof redone last year as well and the work only took two days, however it took more than 6 months from signing the contract to when contractors showed up to do the work and this was with a builder I consider a friend and do work with all the time. He was able to sneak me in due to a cancellation. Had that not happened I might still be waiting for a new roof. When they finally did show up they were a still couple guys short and they rushed the work.

At the same time I signed my re-roofing contract I had new spray foam insulation put in my attic. I wanted to wait until after the roof was done, but my choices were "We can do it next weekend as we had a cancellation or it will be sometime in early 2018".

My MIL ran into a similar issue as the only half strength crew took nearly 2 weeks to do a 2 day job.

My son in law is a production manager for a shingle manufacturer and I can't remember the last week he worked less than 70 hours.

At my office, we currently have a lot packed to the brim will built roof and floor trusses that can't be delivered because foundations are taking forever to get poured and when they are, it is hard to find a framing crew to put them up.

Sure, there is the possibility that a project might have gone over budget and the project was left half done until the next allocation of funds, but my money is on much less sinister motives.
In that photo, were is our stroller with our little dog dressed like yoda? In the stroller, security never noticed ... love the purple I think the imagners are done, good job guys”

I remember seeing a crane near Cinderella's castle in the early 90s...

I am trying to get my fence, and my roof, replaced post hurricane Irma. My roof estimate was given in November - I'm still on their waiting list. My fence estimate was done in February. I had to go before the county commission, which didn't meet until last week. I'm still waiting to have something in writing before they start.

I could probably get some fly-by-night company to do it tomorrow, but I'd rather wait. Most contractors I know have a terrible time finding decent carpenters, roofers, painters, etc.

I hope this all gets resolved for you soon.

Today doesn't show much going on. I don't understand why it's so oversized.

The tall scrim is to hide the new fiberglass adornments that when finished will gives the carousel a snow-capped winter look. The design will also feature dangling icicles from the ride's Regal-like cresting. The color scheme will remain mostly the same except for the horses and poles which will be either painted or recast to resemble "ice" sculptures. The final changes will replace the music with a calliope rendition of "Let it Go!" and "Do you want to build a Snowman" that accompanies dancing flurries of snow pumped out from newly installed snow-machines. While the carousel is currently operational; it is expected to close briefly to apply those changes. It will reopen with a new name in time for The Magic Kingdom's 50th Anniversary celebration, or so I heard. :cautious:

I believe a lot if it seems from the crash in 2008. I know so many that changed careers when they lost their jobs and there is no way they are coming back.
