This building has been there long before the expansion was started (you can see it in Google Earth as far back as 1995). If it is being used as an office now, which would make sense, what was it before that?
INCREDIBLE progress.. Thanks so much for the fantastic pics, Scott!
All the details popping up here and there already add so much more, getting me all the more excited! And a 2012 opening (Spring -- Dumbo; Fall -- Mermaid and BatB) is looking much more reasonable
I am still having a hard time believing that any of Storybook Circus will be open by mid February. Just seems like there is a lot still to do and only just over two months to go.

Agreed. I'm actually not sure where that date came from.
According to the internal timeline I have...
Train/Goofini - 2nd quarter of fiscal 2012 (Jan-Mar)
Dumbo/Entrance - 2rd quarter of fiscal 2012 (April-June)
Tent area - 4th quarter of fiscal 2012 (July-Sept)
That's the key word, right there...The assumption has been that the February 17th date would be the opening of the new one.
Question: Could those 6 rather large footings be used for KUKA Robotic Arm Technology? Evenly spaced out to provide a wide variety of themed ride for all boys and girls of all ages.
That's the key word, right there...

As for the holes in the tents, I could easily see those areas being footings for interactive elements in those areas. Maybe, several kiosks with different interactive activities at each one.
Which is it?
The main tent is being called Sideshow Souvenirs, with the smaller tent being the meet & Greet tent. Currently, there is no word on who exactly will be occupying the two rooms in the M&G tent, but there will not be a show at this point. The center of the smaller tent is the queue which will feed the two rooms
That's too much space to be taken up if the large tent is still going to be merchandise. The idea that the holes are access points to infrastructure (electrical, plumbing) makes sense, but I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before.
The only other idea I had was that they are footings for some sort of theme related decoration. Perhaps anchor points for acrobats or some other over head circus related animatronics or statues. I mean if they are just going to be places for cash registers and what not related to selling merchandise then why do they need them in both tents and why are they so large?
I had another thought. Maybe whatever they are going to recover the tents with is going to be heavier then the origianl coverings and these are needed for internal support posts. This would explain the uniform position and the fact that they are going to be in both tents.
