INCREDIBLE progress.. Thanks so much for the fantastic pics, Scott!

All the details popping up here and there already add so much more, getting me all the more excited! And a 2012 opening (Spring -- Dumbo; Fall -- Mermaid and BatB) is looking much more reasonable :)

This building has been there long before the expansion was started (you can see it in Google Earth as far back as 1995). If it is being used as an office now, which would make sense, what was it before that?

It was an Entertainment break room, rehearsal/training room and restrooms.

According to the plans, the building behind the tents will be repurposed into a break area/wardrobe for the M&Gs.

I am still having a hard time believing that any of Storybook Circus will be open by mid February. Just seems like there is a lot still to do and only just over two months to go.

Agreed. I'm actually not sure where that date came from.

According to the internal timeline I have...
Train/Goofini - 2nd quarter of fiscal 2012 (Jan-Mar)
Dumbo/Entrance - 2rd quarter of fiscal 2012 (April-June)
Tent area - 4th quarter of fiscal 2012 (July-Sept)

It comes from the scheduled Dumbo refurb from January 09 until February 17 which is listed on the Disney Parks Calendar. The assumption has been that the February 17th date would be the opening of the new one. Although I don't see the logic in closing the original dumbo for 6 weeks when they are going to close it to move it anyway, I am starting to think that this is what is going to happen.

Footings in tents from image 3

Question: Could those 6 rather large footings be used for KUKA Robotic Arm Technology? Evenly spaced out to provide a wide variety of themed ride for all boys and girls of all ages. :)

I'm glad they aren't going with a cheesy look for the spinners. When they first arrived, I thought that that was it. But I am glad that they are adding a more elegant look to it! Kudos!

That's the key word, right there...

So, why would they have an end date of Feb. 17th? It makes it sound as if a Dumbo will be reopeningn on the 18th? If they didn't plan to open it until later, wouldn't they have put a later date on the refurb/closing schedule!?!

A Couple points that I see after a quick look at the pictures.

I count 3 bridges at little mermaid and 4 bridges in the BATB area. The two large bridges right in front of the entrance to Be Our Guest, one leading to the restaurant and one leading to the village area. There are two small bridges also shown. One is just to the right of Belle’s cottage (image #4) and another just below and to the left of it (also in image #4)

As for the holes in the tents, I could easily see those areas being footings for interactive elements in those areas. Maybe, several kiosks with different interactive activities at each one.

That's too much space to be taken up if the large tent is still going to be merchandise. The idea that the holes are access points to infrastructure (electrical, plumbing) makes sense, but I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before.

Which is it?

There are two different sheds that we're talking about:

The first is next to Barnstormer and has been established as being the coaster shed for Barnstormer.

The second is north of the tents and has been established to being the Imagineering Office for the FLE expansion and will supposedly be used as the backstage area for the circus meet & greets.

The main tent is being called Sideshow Souvenirs, with the smaller tent being the meet & Greet tent. Currently, there is no word on who exactly will be occupying the two rooms in the M&G tent, but there will not be a show at this point. The center of the smaller tent is the queue which will feed the two rooms

Not sure where you get the information that there won't be a show, but according to the latest art, there's a third small round tent and a larger yellow rectangular tent northeast of the existing tents (just in front of the shed) that, as I understand it, will be Pete's Silly Sideshow. We just don't know exactly what Pete's Silly Sideshow is at this point.

The only other idea I had was that they are footings for some sort of theme related decoration. Perhaps anchor points for acrobats or some other over head circus related animatronics or statues. I mean if they are just going to be places for cash registers and what not related to selling merchandise then why do they need them in both tents and why are they so large?

I had another thought. Maybe whatever they are going to recover the tents with is going to be heavier then the origianl coverings and these are needed for internal support posts. This would explain the uniform position and the fact that they are going to be in both tents.

I think you're on the right path. Check the outside of the larger tent as well. They are adding some serious concrete to the outer wall. My guess is that the old tents didn't meet some of the newer safety standards and when they get rebuilt, it will require additional support poles (on the footings) and a larger base around the outside where the new concrete molds are located. Structurally, it will look far more like a building and less like a tent when they are done.
