Here are a couple more comparisons. Again, I didn't really put much effort into duplicating the perspective. I might work on that this coming year though

These were taken 268 days apart with a remarkable amount of change (the buildings themselves went up pretty quickly too).

Comparison is awesome! Thanks very much for sharing your talents. Look forward to future updates.

very cool! Thanks for this... we just spent last week at the world and kept putting the kids on Dumbo so we could check out the construction. LOL Couldn't believe how much progress was made in just the 6 days we were in the parks!! It was very noticeable from first day to last. We were last there Friday night, the 9th.

New Fantasyland (early 2012) – The largest expansion project in Magic Kingdom history will open in phases beginning February 2012 at Walt Disney World Resort, featuring attractions and experiences in an area that will nearly double the size of Fantasyland. Among the novelties, guests will be able to fly high with The Great Goofini or with Dumbo the Flying Elephant, “immerse” themselves in Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid and “be our guest” at the Beast’s Castle. Out of the gate in early 2012 will be The Barnstormer coaster, Fantasyland Station and – for the first time anywhere turning counter-clockwise – the first half of the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction. Completion of The New Fantasyland is scheduled for 2014 with most new experiences open by 2013.

lee i would just like to say curse you for stickin with that darn 2014 date.. :) i really thought they could make 2013.. well time to rethink vacation plans

Does anyone know what will open towards the end of the project? Since we are just going into 2012, it seems like 2 years is a lot of time to finish up these projects. Or is this the normal amount of time for this kind of thing? Just kind of curious how they will phase out the rest of the unveiling.

Ok, so this was a little more tricky, what with the big difference in angle between the two. Still turned out interesting I think:

Hey there everyone. My parents and I are here at Walt Disney World for our yearly Christmas visit and my dad noticed this in the second picture when I was showing them pictures of the Fantasy Land expansion.

To all of us it looks like a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea sub. It's too weird of a shape to just be a tarp and it is completely gone in the newer photos where they've laid down the foundation for the Snow White coaster. However it looks a little short in comparison to old image aerial shots I've found of the subs laid out in the dirt. Opinions? I'm obsessed with researching old/lost Disney attractions, so sorry if someone pointed this out already.

Nice try but, nope. The two white marks near the top of the "object" is two construction workers - that should give you some scale.

Here's a really enlarged view:
